MD Questions

All things considered, how long does it take to get the Sx date? I'm speaking w/ one MD; his RN said it could be done in 45 days?!  Only 2 visits before the Sx....the counseling and pre-op check-up....then the Sx. I'm going to start w/ my insurance company on Wednesday. Are there any things you recommend to stay away from a particular MD. The practice in Concord looks to be ideal, based in the number of procedures they've done; however, their office polices look too stringent for me. Dr Fernando is the closest; however, doesn't look like he's done that many LB. I live the Triad area -- don't have a problem driving a 100 miles (heck the day trip would do me good). Any guidance on what to stay away from. TIA

There was a female surgeon in Greensboro who did surgery at Moses Cone. Her name was Dr. Kristen Hardcastle and I think she's still there. She's been doing LB for about 2-3 years. You might wanna check her out. I had my surgery at Duke Surgical Weight Loss about 4 years ago, when lapband was brand new in this country. I hear that the wait time there (since the LB commercials have started running on TV) can be as long as 3 months to get a consultation but you might want to give them a call and see if that rumor is true.
