Shopping for pants - Ugh
So, I finally HAD to go buy new pants today. I was at the point of having to safety pin my waists. At first, I was very excited. I am officially out of Plus sizes. Then, as I started trying on pants; all the waists are now LOW, below my belly button. I think that is the new fshion style. I probably tried on 20 pairs of dress pants and jeans. All of them give me an awful muffin top. I wanted sooo bad to find a pair of pants that fit my high waist and cover the bulge. I never found them. I guess I'll have to get used to the new style and workout to rid my body of the muffin! Anyone else having this problem???????

Try a mid rise pant. Walmart even sells a mid rise Levi for $20. They are really nice too... I have a pair of 18s that I LOVED.. now I am wearing and loving GAP jeans. You may even want to scope out some of the GWs around Charlotte to see what you can find. It sucks to have to buy clothes that you will only have for a short period of time. I would go for really reasonable and economical. You won't be in them long. :)
I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....

As Jenn and Sheila have said Goodwill is one of my best bets ... it takes time. If you take a tape measure with you measure the waists, it's a little easier than having try on all of 'em. I wear an 8 or a 10, but it's hard to tell when they are on the hanger unless I measure. I'm learning that I can wear certain styles/brands better than others ... Goodwill or another thrift or resale store is great because you have such a selection ... it can also be overwhelming.
If you like a higher rise and most of us with "muffin top" syndrome do, then you might find that you would like the Lee relaxed fit jeans. They sell them at Kohl's and they run about $20 bucks.
We are so used to a limited selection that it takes some time to figure out what works. Also, remember that we are also used to buying clothes that are built to camoflage ... not all misses clothes are and it will take some trial and error to find what works best.
Congratulations on making it to the misses department!
