Wed is the big day

I can't believe that Wednesday is my day.  At first it seemed like it would never get here and now it seems like the time has flown.  However, I did get a little scare on Wednesday.  The radiologist saw "fatty infiltration of the pancreas" on my ultrasound and recommended a CT.  Well, had the CT this morning and all was well.  Turns out there was no "fatty infiltration".  Although, I was a little disappointed in my surgeon's office.  The nurse called this afternoon and said everything looked good on CT.  I went by the hospital after work to pick up a copy of the CT report.  I want my PCP to have copies of all my tests.  Turns out that I have a cyst on my left ovary.  Its probably no big deal but I can't believe that my surgeon's office didn't mention it.  Good thing I took it upon myself to get a copy of the report.

fatty infiltration - TERRORISTS! lol Probably 80% of us have cysts on our ovaries, I know I do, I had an ultrasound a couple years ago for it. I have PCOS actually so there is more than one (but only one one ovary, go figure). It shouldn't affect your surgery. GOOD LUCK wednesday I will be rooting for you!

Like you, I like to have my PCP have copies of all reports from all other physicians. I also like to have copies for my own records. It's amazing what you find out when you read them. Kudos for taking charge of your own healthcare!

Do you have an angel to watch over you and report how you are doing after surgery? If not, just hollar, I'm sure that there a plenty of folks willing to do that for you. Let me know if you want a visit at the hospital. I live in the area and would be delighted to stop by if you'd like a visitor. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers on Wednesday.  You will do great. It's a very good thing to be as proactive in your treatment protocol as possible. I hope you will continue to do so.

Like Lexi said... A LOT of us have cysts.  They told me duing my first pregancy that I had them...   Man.. What a way to start 2008.   (We love being LOSERS!!!)

Thanks for all of the wonderful words of encouragement.  I am so excited.  My parents are here from Texas which will be a big help.  My mom and I went shopping for some comfy pj's yesterday.  The whole time all I could think was that this will be the last time I shop for a size 3x.  It all seems so surreal.
