Took a fall today

Got mother to Duke today and I felt we finally had a doctor who answered questions for me about her condition. The doctor withdrew a huge amount of fluid off her shoulder and gave her a cortisone shot. So while I was getting her to the car I had to go back into the clinic to get help closing her walker. On my way out the door with the walker I fell flat on my back. The man at the desk came rushing out to see if I was ok. I was more in shock than anything. On a positive side I was able to get myself up using a yoga position that I learned a few years ago. So my back is a little stiff and I put my ice pack on.                                                         Annie

Annie -

I'm so sorry to hear of your fall. I'm so glad that it wasn't too serious and that you were able to get back up okay. Can you imagine if that had happened 6 months ago?

I'll bet a trip to the hot tub will help some.

Feel better my friend.

Annie, Sorry to hear about your fall.  How scary that must have been!!!!  Do you know what caused you to fall ~~ I mean like did you trip over something or just lose your footing?  Glad to hear that you weren't badly hurt and hopefully you won't be too awful sore tomorrow.  Take care and give yourself a little extra TLC tonight!! Hugs, Donna

Ouch!  Glad you're okay.  I've taken a few falls since I had surgery and ended up having labs drawn and found out I had a "critically low" thiamine (vitamin B1) level.  I was started on replacement therapy (one pill/day, 100 mg) and have not fallen since I started taking it.  I thought I was just clumsy until I talked to the surgeon about it and had those labs drawn.   My poor knees are all scarred up!
