I am going on 4 weeks post-op. Since last night around 8pm I have been having these sharp pains between my belly button and my left side. If I move a certain way it hurts and it is even real sensitive to touch. The pain is between 2 incisions. Does anyone have any idea what it could be or if I should call my Dr.? Thanks for any input, I love this forum! Everyone is so nice and helpful!! Suzanne :)

Always call the surgeon if you are concerned :-) However, pain on that side is very normal... that is one of areas where they do a lot of their work - for a while post-op I felt like there was a string attaching the skin of my belly on the bottom left up to my pouch... when I moved a certain way I would feel a pulling sensation in that area - it was strange but eventually went away!

Thanks. They told me that pain on my left side was normal but what I do not understand is the fact that I have had no pain and then all of a sudden it starts. Thanks though, I think I may go ahead and call my surgeon, can't hurt :)

Do call.  I can tell you that from two to about six weeks I had a muscle on that side (ran down at kind of an angle) that would knot up and hurt intermittently.  I didn't realize it was a muscle for quite a while tho.

I did talk to my surgeon and they said it was normal, that they feel like I am just pulling the internal stitches which they said could take up to 3 months to totally dissolve.  However I am getting sick and coughing some and this morning I coughed kinda hard and it felt like I ripped something.  It hurt SOOOO bad it took my breath, I could not move or talk and in a couple of minutes the pain was gone and I have not hurt since so I'm not sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing Suzanne
