Does Dr Beausoleil do VSG? My son got a referral sent to Dr. B. and he is leaning towards VSG.

He weighs 420 pounds and he does not want the band either. Nothing against the band, it is just a lot of work and a lot of care. He suffered a head injury 15 years ago and I don't think he could work a band. I don't want him to have the RNY either. It is pretty severe for someone his age.

Hi there Dr. B told me he started the sleeve a year and a half ago. He actually prefers to do those as the risks are lower and quicker healing with less chance for complications. Hope that helps!

My son won't even get in to see Dr B for another 2 or 3 years so I am really hoping he even qualifies for the vsg. I know how difficult it is for me so I don't think he wants rny. VSG may be easier than RNY. Dumping sucks

Yes I believe I had read that you were having some problems with alot of different foods. That would certainly be hard. I am hoping as foolish as it sounds for the dumping though, It may fix my weakness for sugar, I hope

Yeah thw dumping sure does curb your sugar tooth in a hurry. If you dump on the same thing a cople of times, you kinda lose the urge for it. LOL.Sucks though to dump onall canned soup and crackers and breads.

What is not so funny is the total loss of so many foods. I thought after a year or so I would start getting some of them back but I am still losing more. I am pretty much down to hamburger meat and chickem breasts now.I have lost most all other meats and fish. Becareful about wishing fordumping because a lot o people ( I think this includes Deb too) will never experience dumping.

There is a very long wait list for Dr. Beausoleil.  There is a Dr. James Elsmere in Halifax that specializes in VSG.  He has a fairly new clinic and accepts his patients on a needs bases, rather then a wait list.

Dr B does the VSG, so I doubt the NB government would pay for it.
