Dr. Roger De La Torre....????
You do know Dr. De La Torre left the practice as of 3/31/10? Dr. Morales is taking his book of patients. I received a letter in the mail about this. He took an Associate Professor position at Mizzou as well as becoming Mizzou's Chief of Surgery I believe. I definitely remember the professor positon, but it was also something to do with their Head or Chief of Surgical something or other....
Don't get worried.... you will still be in good hands with Dr. Scott and Dr. Morales. Dr. Morales was trained by both Dr. De La Torre and Dr. Scott and holds some patents on surgical devices with them both. On my follow ups I have dealt with both doctors, and I find Dr. Morales more of the people person than Dr. Scott.

I am in Columbia and, Dr De la Torre is going to be my surgeon,,,, but thanks for the info.....and thanks for all the support and information.... It is like Kerri said. You will weigh in and meet Dr. De La Torre. He will ask you if you have any questions regarding your surgery. I think my meeting with him lasted all of 5 minutes. You will then meet with the nurse and nut and they will tell you what to expect at the hospital and after surgery. They will go over portion sizes and offer suggestions on eating and show you how to eat post-op, cover the various food stages and what you can and shouldn't eat, etc. Then they schedule your surgery and then send you to get all your tests done (bloodwork, chest x-ray, breathing test, etc). You can expect to be there until about 4 or 5pm. It's literally an all day process. I had my first appt on 8/12 and had surgery on 9/16. It happened that quickly. Good luck to you!
