Question about gahlbladder surgery AFTER WLS
I know that alot of WLS patients have their gahlbladder removed after WLS. I was just wondering what the symptoms of a gahlbladder attack is??? I've been having a PAIN in my stomach but not in my pouch--I know where my pouch is because I can feel it rumbling and feel some digestion after eating. But this pain is lower than that and in the center of my stomach area. It's not gas or stomach ache kind of pain. It literally HURTS. And if I push on it it hurts as well. I can actually feel where the pain is. I'm just curious as to what this could be. It just started last night and is back tonight. My hubby wants to take me to the ER but I'm not sure it's that serious. The pain is tolerable. But keep in mind that I've lived with constand pain for years now so I do have a pain tolerance. So it's hard for me to know if I need to go to the ER or not. I dunno. I'm not really worried right now. Because like I said the pain is tolerable. I was just wondering if maybe it was the start of some kind of gahlbladder attack or something. Any advice???
Thanks,
~Angie

Angie sure sounds like it could be... most people who have wls and then the gall bladder acts upbecause of such a grea weight lass. most girls go in have the gall bladder out and dont have any problems afterwards. and is usually an outpatient operations. i was lucky really i guess, i had problems with mine years before i had wls. if you can call that lucky. you might should go to your doctor and have them check it out. take care.

When my gallbladder acted up I thought I was having a heart attack. I hurt in the center of my chest. Some people hurt in their back so there is no one place. If it hurts at all its always best to find out if it could be serious. No reason to take a chance. You are lucky to still have your gallbladder. I hope it turns out to be nothing.
I had to have mine out after wls and I too like Suzie thought it was a heart attack, hurt in my chest, thru to my back and up in my neck and down my left arm...took my breath away and felt like someone sitting on my chest...but others have told me it is just stomach pain for them so it wont hurt to have it checked out to see.

Angie...
Mine started very subtle and only occasionally and it was centered in the right stomach area, a little lower. Never had any chest pain or back or arm pain so I didn't think it was. Since it was subtle, I dealt with it for over a year before I got it fixed. Glad you're going to call your doc....better to have it checked than let it go. Besides, if it is your gallbladder, you will feel SO much better when you get it out!

Angie,
My pain hits me in the middle right under my sternum. It sometimes hurts all the way to my back. It is both sharp and dull at the same time (if that makes any sense). Sometimes it's more to the right side. It hurts when I move and when I eat or drink as well. Hopefully mine will be coming out soon.
Good luck to you.

I called my PCP he is seeing me at 10:45 this morning. I really hope it's nothing serious. The pain is getting worse as time goes by. I could feel the pain in my sleep last night. Now I'm getting worried. I really hope it's some major gas or something. It send sharp pains when I eat or drink. And it started just a little dull nagging kind of pain on Monday night and now I'm almost in tears. I'm just praying it's gas or something that will pass. Please keep me in your prayers. Thanks ~Angie
