~What's your favorite Holiday Recipes??~
With Christmas getting so close I thought it would be nice to share different recipes we use for the Holidays....I love making new things to try out on everyone....When we go for dinners at Joes families house in Illinois I always make a new dish..He has a few nephews that always search out what I brought so they can check it out lol lol....
Of course it would be great to hear all the WLS friendly recipes but we all have families that eat normal food....So feel free to post what ever you would like to share with us.....Can't wait to see what all gets posted!!
One of my moms favs I make for most every Christmas and usually for her birthday is..
Ice Box Cake.....
1 can of crused pinapple (drained a bit)
1 box of vanilla waffers
2 cups powdered sugar
4 egg whites
1/2- 1 cup chopped pecans...I use a full cup because she loves the pecans....
Now all you do is beat you egg whites till they have a firm peak...
Fold together the pinapple and nuts with your egg whites
Layer you bowl with the vanilla waffers and layer you mix and cookies as you do with a banana pudding.... Garnish with a few cookies & or pecans and chill for a few hours.
Do they make powdered sugar, sugar free???
We all also like this dessert and it can be made LF or FF & SF...
Yogurt Cream Pie
1 gramcracker crust
2 regular size yogurts of your choice (Joe and I love Black Berry)
1 reg size cool whip
Fold your cool whip and yogurt together and pour into your crust and chill for a few hours before serving....
We have tried it with several kinds of yourt and loved em all....My Step Father loves lemon. Not tired it with yogurt that has fruit in it yet but might try that this year...
Does anyone know if you can get SF gramcracker crusts or use something to make your own that would be a lil less sugar than a reg gram cracker crust????
