WHATS HAPPENING FOR SUNDAY

First I want to thank everyone for all the prayers they offered up for Joe yesterday, he seems to be fine with not much pain at all.  His drain that he has in the site will come out today before we leave to go home,...

Today I have to get back on track with my eating. . Wednesday I overate , and Thursday ate very little because I was still bloated and full from Wednesday, then Friday was Joes surgery date didn’t eat anything but did have my protein and water in.and always get in my vits. At least one thing I have been getting my walking in, don’t know how many miles but will wal****il my hip joints start hurting , I would say a good 3 miles, without stopping. I found a good floor to walk on where you don’t have to stop. And have walked it 5 times at a time ...ohboy I just found out from one of the nurses that the lap on the ground floor is one mile whoo hooo. That is 5 miles. Good grief.. but that is real level ground not like what Andy and I walk on...which is up and down hills and gravel etc...

Well we got to go home , got home right about noon. Fixed Joe a ham and cheese sandwich and me a protein shake.  Oh yum was good. I love my protein shakes. Lol I know im a weirdo.  Have a load of dirty clothes in the washer and dishes washing. Have been cleaning up this and that since we got home.  Need to clean the kitchen good before I start cooking for Thursday.  Going to make two of Sugars pecan pies man you cant tell them from the real thing and going to make some of Peggys protein soufflés those were so good and Becs caramel apple salad. To go along with all the other good stuff lol

Sure is prettier than it has been the last couple of days wasn’t it? Actually pretty nice.

Have to get over to the trailer and get that cleaned up before next week.

Hopefully Joe will feel like coming to the support meeting on Monday night. I think he will if he doesn’t have a back step or something....he says it seems to be ok , so far. Of course it is the spine but doesn’t support weight on that part lol so makes it better

Janet where you? Im going to ground you young lady if you don’t come on and say hi to all your family lol

Jeanine...same to you too young lady....you need to tell your mama she has to share you with the rest of the family lol  how are you doing? And I know you are enjoying your mama being there. Tell Steve we all said hi.

Want to request prayer for Marilyn...if you didn’t read the post that Karen did , Marilyn is facing some serious health problems. Her cancer is back. So we need to put her on the power prayer list guys. Everyone that has a prayer chain either at church or friends what ever..thank you and keep remembering all the other prayer request that we have already .

KAREN:::::::I don’t really know what I do that is different than anyone else lol I just write about it lol . I have always had lots of energy , even when I was fat I thought all the time even tho I couldn’t do much of it. Just got lots of ideas so that when I did lose I went nuts I guess. There are lots of people on here that do as much if not more than I do tho.

I really hope to meet you soon too. You and all the girls up there are invited to come to our support groups Christmas party would love it and would love to meet all of you

PEGGY:::::::: hey if you figure out what you are doing to lose more weight let me know. I went into the surgery with no gall bladder so cant get rid of it to lose more weight lol

Hmmmmmm wonder what other organs we have that we can live without?? They have to weight something right? Like the spleen, appendix, could live with one kidney and one lung lol now all of that ought to weight close to 15 or 20 pounds you think?

Thanks for praying for Joe and I and yes we are home. I think the ride home wore Joe out .he has been asleep since he ate lunch. He said oh boy our bed , so much better than those hospital beds.

You are one very special girl too you know. And you mean al lot to everyone that knows you.

SUSIE:::::::: yep having a dumping session like you did so early out does scare you. But you cant let it scare you to where you don’t want to try different foods ...i still say that white potatoes are too high in carbs for anyone especially early post ops. Try a baked sweet potato with butter and cream cheese or butter and cinnamon and splenda on it lots more flavor and very few carbs, pureed foods ? jus****ch it if you think that baby food would be the way to go. Baby food is loaded with sugar. And if you are real sensitive to sugar which I suspect you might be with dumping on the potatoes..but you are probably right about too much too, what I used for pureed foods was cream soups just the small pieces of meats either throw it all in the blender and blend it up or take them out.

Cant wait to see you on Monday....take it easy and we will be at the library by 5:30 or 6pm so if you get tired shopping come on over you can rest there lol even before that you could go to the library and read or go to the little café there .  anyway will see you on Monday.

BEC:::::already missing you again sweet girl...sounds like you have the jumping dog trained lol  that was what my daddy use to do to his hunting dogs when they would jump on him but it does work, you don’t have to hurt them just makes them realize it isn’t something that they like.

Don’t work so hard that you are too tired to enjoy your baby coming home this weekend

I know you are so excited that you can hardly stand it right ?

I am doing a bowl of the caramel apple salad for thanksgiving. That stuff was so good.

COR:::::: I know your hips hurt you but hopefully they will be better after surgery.

If it is arthritis it might not help a lot except for the fact tht you don’t have to carry as much weight.  You can do it if you want on the cigs, I know you can. You are a determined young woman , just look how you managed to finally get the insurance company to approve you. You can do anything,

So your final date is what now? I lost track ...lol

Take care and don’t worry about the liquid diet. You can do it. I have faith in you...go Corine go...

COLETTE::::::::I know what you mean about being upset . All we can do for our friend now is to pray for her. Which we all will do I know. God knows how much we hurt when we are facing things like this and he is always there. Love you my Angel take care of you.

ANDY::::: thanks for taking care of Rebel while we were gone...he act like he knew something was wrong with Joe when we got back . he just kept walking around and

looking at Joe  and talking to me.

I bet the cabinets are looking really sharp,... your casserole sounds good too.

Im anxious for Susan to get started on her  journey for wls. Too.

Joes roommate was a big man that had some surgery done on his spine and he found out I had gastric bypass surgery and so the questions began. He said he had the stomach stapling done about 30 years ago , they didn’t do the re routing like they do now and his stapling had come partially loose. Anyway he was very interested in all I could tell him.

Gave his wife my email address so if he wanted to know anything else to email me.

lOVE AND HUGS

GOD BLESS

Hey I am going to be the first to post .  How did that happen.  Marilyn is on my prayer list. I have been in the dumps all day because a long life friend in Iowa has been diagonsed wtih cancer also.  She has been the picture of health.  I know she is a woman of God and such a wonderful example of a christian.  Her name is Helen if you want to keep her in your prayers also.  I was just sitting here about 45 minutes ago and all of a sudden blood was running down out of my nose.  Had a nose bleed.  I never get a nose bleed and had no headache or any problems.  Had just made some of Becs carmel apple salad and made some sugar free rhubarb crumble.  It smells so good in here.  Well enough about me.
Glad Joe is home and doing well..  God is Good and answers prayers.
I have been out of protein so been trying to eat protein.  doing ok - mine should be here the beginning of the week.  Well, have a good day.  Colette

My prayers are going out for Marilyn. She has been through so much and always has a great attitude. Glad Joe is ok.
I tried potatos again and did fine. I measured this time. I think I just ate way to much. I managed some pinto beans with a little cheese and sour cream last night, They were good. I am not sure if anything else was in them because they came from a local mexican place here. We had take out. I so wanted to eat a shrimp but I was able to control myself and stick with the beans. I had some gas but it was good to eat real food.Never cared much for beans before but I will eat them. I cannot say my tastes have really changed at all.  I still like the same flavors. I am going to try some deviled egg today I think. I know the more food I eat the better I will feel.

Bec how in the world are you able to walk so much? I am only doing ten minutes at a time. Must be because you are so young. I am trying to keep up but I have been lost in the dust. Way to go girl.

Hi Susie Doll,

I'm able to walk like I do because I'm like an old bull dog... I refuse to give up! ~tee hee

Seriously I have to a take a honk'n dose of pain meds to walk every day...but all three docs say they would rather I take it once a day and walk than not be able to exercise at all?  So that's how I do it.... I have tried two times now to wait and walk in the after noon but the pain meds don't work as well and it hurts something terrible! I guess I have agitated my back all day... I'm fresh in the morning and have rested my back the few hours I'm able to sleep... so I guess that's why it works...?  I have very little cartilage between L4 & L5 disks and it's like bone on bone they say and that rubbing causes swelling and that why it hurts???... I sure wish there was something they could do to fix it.  Dang I'd feel pretty darn good if it wasn't for the back pain.

But I do have to say this for the FIRST time in my life I truly look forward and enjoy the time I am out there each morning... for what ever reason I know the results are going to be lasting this time!  and I'm on a mission!  I'm like that when I set my mind to do something I am like a ole bull dog... so just get out of my way I'm going thru!!! ~tee hee   I also spend that time pouring out my "heart" out to the Lord .... and the time goes by so fast... I'm usually out there an hour and 20 minutes... depending on how many dogs and horses there are out that day.  I can imagine the Lord is saying... goodness she was in rare form today! ~tee hee

I'm so glad you are doing better!  It sure is a learning process isn't it?  You know you will get stronger as you go along and be able to exercise more and more.... I sure don't feel too young I'm 43... and these bones swear at me I'm much older but I will sure be glad and hope the day comes that I don't need that pain med to walk... or at least something that is not as strong?  Hang in there.... you are doing great and it's only going to get better!!!

I am so glad that prayers are answered for all of us when we need them.  God bless each and everyone of you.

Son came up Friday evening to go hunting with Dad and I have been cooking up a storm again for him.  I made the hamburger Shepard's pie for Friday night dinner then Saturday night I made a splenda apple strudel/braid with pecans and raisins.  Did a small brisket,  a corn casserole, garlic smashed potatoes & gravy, mixed veggies and stuffing.  Also had fresh whipped cream for their apple dessert which I passed up on.  I had a bite or 2 of everything and was full to the brim.  Still not feeling so hot I am thinking it is from my flu shot I got Friday at work.  Got up at 4am this morning and fixed the hunters their favorite breakfast of sausage gravy & biscuits and hash browns.  I had coffee and my protein drink.  I am tired and the recliner or couch looks so inviting at this time but i need to get laundry done and make a splenda carmel apple cake for my unit directors birthday.

Also need to think about what I want to pack for our trip Wednesday after I get off work.  I have never been to Little Rock before and will be staying at my brother in laws hotel as sister's house will be full to the brim.  She asked if we minded staying in a suite there - No way do I mind the treat.  We kind of get the royal treatment and pampered when we stay at one of the hotels my bil runs.  So will be running past Bec's house and am trying to get Dad and sis to stop so I can meet her but it does not look promising as it is a 9 hour drive.  We will stop for dinner in Springfield and meet son and family at a restaurant there.

Have a great day!
Sandy

Oh Sandy!

I would of been so exciting meet you but I sure understand.  It is a very long drive for you all.  I just know when the time is right the Lord will bless us with a wonderful visit just like He has so many others I have been privileged to meet in person!

I just love to hear what all you have been cooking for your family.  It is so very familiar to me.  I have done like that for all of my married life.  I can't believe how many things I have made now since surgery and not even eaten!  It seems so strange.

Sounds like a fun time you will have on your trip... staying in a suite!  Woo Woo!  I hope you DO have a simply wonderful time!

Hello to all,   My doctor’s appointments went well. My blood pressure was excellent and my wound doctor told me I do not have to wrap my toe anymore just to keep lotion on it to keep it from drying out and cracking. My blood sugar is finally doing better but the doctor increased my insulin some more to help it stay that way, he also told me once I have the surgery I would more then likely be off all insulin and other medications, I am so ready for that. I wish Andy and I could be at the COF meeting tomorrow night, we are really gonna miss that but we’ll be there in December for the Christmas party.    Becky anything you want to know about Andy you just ask, I have lots I can tell since we been together for over 20 years LOL.   Peggy how is Buddy doing, he was such a cute cat.   Sugar how was your trip to Oklahoma? Andy and I used to live in Broken Arrow when we first got married in Tulsa, we really liked it there. Hope you had a safe trip.   Jan if you or Joe need anything just let us know, we are so glad Joe is doing good, glad you made it home ok.  It's always our pleasure to watch after rebel, he is such good dog,  you can always tell when you and Joe are gone he always kind of mopes around and ends up coming over here and laying on our porch sometimes, he's so cute.   Well I better go for now, Andy is putting the casserole together for church so I better go help him quick. Hope everyone has a good day and please keep us in your prayers tomorrow as we travel to Columbia.   God Bless,   Susan

Susan ~ you are too cute!  I thought sure I'd get a rise out of Andy when I told about the "DOO PEE" but he didn't say a word! ~tee hee  I bet you do have a lot of stories you could tell on him in 20 years!

I'm glad your Dr. appts went well and I'm very excited for you to get started on your WLS journey!  Lady you have a lot to look forward too!!!

I will be thinking of you on Monday as you got to the seminar, praying safe travels and good things come from the day!

Good Beautiful Sunday Morning!

It was wonderful out walking this morning!  5 dogs and 7 horses this morning.  The weather has been warmer this past two mornings and that makes it so much nicer.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!  My dear baby will be home around 6:00 p.m.  I have to get my little (ok not so little) self busy I still have to freshen up the room she stays in and am working on apple pies... but thought I would take a break and have my protein shake with you all... I have to get out there and burn the trash too and a few other things...

I started with 8 bushels of apples and now am down to only two left... that will be just enough to get thru the holidays.  I have several new recipes I'm making... one is a cobbler type with cherry jello sprinkled on top of the apples...  and a couple other new recipes too....

I'm thinking and praying for Marilyn and so many others that have needs... I miss the ones that have not posted in a while but I sure have not forgot about them... and pray things are going well and they are ever so blessed!

The protein shake is down now I better get myself busy again... I have been drinking my protein shakes in 4 oz of ho****er and putting Divinci Caramel syrup in and drinking it down right fast.... I'm doing ok with it that way and don't seem to mind it as much as I was when I mix a whole shaker bottle full of "stuff".... will see how long this way last before I think I have to do something else.  Today when I bake the pies I'm going to make that crustless pumpkin pie and try mixing a shake make with that and see if I like it??? Who knows I'll let you all know if it is good.

You all have a wonderful blessed day!
