WHATS HAPPENING FOR THURSDAY
Wow today was a blast , we left sugars house at 7am and drove to Peggys house , oh my gosh we arrived , and everyone was there. I got a great surprise ,
Colette was there , you could have knocked me over with a feather. All of them knew that she was coming except me. Stinkers. We had 9 ladies there , Janet and Renee didn’t come and a few of the others that said they would but they all missed a lot of good fun and good high protein foods.
Peggy I love the protein soufflé and got to have the way to make it. I just loved that I can already tell you tho if I made it I would eat too much of them lol Thank you for opening your lovely home to us. You are the sweetest most perfect hostess.
Also Bec need to know how you made the salad you brought...so so good.
Everyone brought clothes to exchange . but don’t get much when you on the bottom of the scale lol but that is ok...enjoy seeing everyone else get stuff they can wear...i did get a cute outfit from Debbie D but will have to have the pants taken up some but the jacket fit fine.
After all of this we went shopping too. I found my pretty little great granddaughter a really cute outfit that I am looking forward to putting on her. ...she will love it.
We didn’t shop long and we decided that we might need to start home. On the way home we stopped in Joplin and gave her all of her baby clothes and gifts and clothes etc etc.
She and Renee looked good but tired. Hope they both come to the meeting on Monday ,
Well guys im really tired and going to bed in a little while ....
Bec: what did the doctor say to you about anything. Did you get to the weight loss you wanted.
Barbara S. it was so great to see you today. Thanks for leading us out of KC. We were so tired and had far to go so it was a great thing...thank you sweetie. ...would have loved to stay longer but just couldn’t. Hope you will come down for the December meeting. You and Peggy and could ride over to Becs and all of you come down together. Oh yeah Debbie too.
Deb Pooh I have sent a bunch of seeds home with Bec for you ...thought maybe you could get down to her house or she up to yours or meet in the middle.
Susie::: yep you don’t have an appetite that is what happens when you have the surgery. And yes you are cold. We all are honey...lol don’t know why except that we lose our insulation. And the no appetite is because we don’t have that big ole stomach anymore but a tenny tiny tummy that is picky lol it will get better as you go along. Sure wish you could have been there today we really had a good time. And look forward to you coming to the meeting on the 24th .;.
COR::::: was great meeting you today and hope I get to see you again soon
SANDY::::: certainly wish you could have come today too. You would have loved all of the girls there. They were so much fun. Maybe you could come down to Springfield to the December meeting. Would love for you too.

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY
JAN COOK
Wish I could have been at the meeting yesterday it sounds like you had a great time. I had my first incident yesterday. I ate some mashed potatoes and felt fine. I did not measure them but had no problem eating them. About five minutes after I finished I felt awful. I started feeling sick and I hurt. It kinda scared me. I didn't know if I should make myself throw u*****t. I remembered someone told me that papaya enzymes worked for this and I had bought some just in case. I took three and they seemed to help.I felt bad for about an hour. I guess my pouch won't tell me when to stop and I need to measure. I think I know what it means to dump now.
I am planning to head to Springfield Monday to shop a little before the meeting. I haven't lost enough to make a difference yet but I am hopeful I will be needing clothes soon. Especially since I have cleaned out my closet.
I really didn't expect to be so cold. I have only lost about 22 pounds total and since I had been having hot flashes being cold is strange. My poor DH is roasting in our house and I am covered with a blanket.
I am slowly regaining my strength I have been sleeping alot more than normal but I guess thats a good thing. Before you know it I will be back to working every day and I am not looking forward to that. Dh started a new job yesterday so maybe I won't have to work so much, I do miss the kids but I do not miss their sniffles and coughs.
Stay warm everyone
Wow, am I ever tired! And of course, I couldn't sleep last night so I'm about to take a hammer to my head to get some sleep. I have a feeling today will be a pj kind of day. Just lazing around...well, not really. I have tons of work to do but I don't have to go anywhere, so I can work here. Besides, I don't feel real well, I'm sure that is just lack of sleep. And I am STILL stuffed from yesterday...but I learned something about myself. I found myself grazing last night, a lot, so now I know one of my triggers is being overly tired. Need to get that fixed. I finally have started losing again, I don't want to blow it.
Thank you again for coming, you are all so gracious. You made me feel like a princess with all your compliments. My hubby was just tickled that you all came and had such a good time. He is pleased when I entertain. He loves watching me come out of my shell. He asked about everything we did and who was here and on and on. The funny thing is that about 1/2 hour after everybody left he walks in the door! He had dispatched on a job in Belton and thought that if everybody was gone, he would stop by and see how it went. He's a goof. If he could have, he would've been here. Mr. Tough Guy, my hiney!
Well, I'm ready for another get together! I'm ready to meet the rest of you! I feel like I have a whole new family and I am incredibly blessed. You each give such great hugs and advice and I dearly love each of you. Thanks again for coming.
Bec...how was your visit? I'm sure it went well, you look terrific! And your picture does not do you justice. I can see so much loss in your face, you cutie, you!
Cor...hang in there, sweetie. You will get approved and we'll all be happy dancing with you!
Well, time for more coffee, something to get rid of this headache and to get started on my list for the day. Have a great day, Missouri!
Peggy
Ok, this is going to be quick but we want everyones opinion about this...we are thinking of changing the location of the Christmas COF meeting to my chruch fellowship hall in Republic just so we have plenty of room and lots of time to visit and all...please let us know what you think. It isnt that far out of Springfield and I can bring maps for Mondays meeting if you all let me know in time. I also need to be reserving it if it is okay with everyone. It is a beautiful place too....
Janet, let me know what you think especially since you will be helping me with all of it! okay? Love ya, sugar
GOD is my ROCK! SUGAR
Good Afternoon Missouri!
Boy was it chilly on my face out there this morning.... it was 22 degrees and then the wind was blowing so it was just a mite "brisk" if you will! Today... 2 dogs and no horses... don't know what decides where they will be? Tuesday it was 6 dogs and 8 horses!!! When I was feeding the horses their apples there was serious commotion with 14 animals all swarming around me! I LOVE IT!!!!
I'm kind of like some of you say and a bit tired today but I did sleep in to the ripe ole time of 6:36 this morning! My lazy today! ~ha
I felt real bad yesterday I failed to mention that Debbie D. help me so much, actually did most of the painting on the scarecrows and I wanted to be sure and tell the ladies there that.... so Debbie I'm sorry! You did a wonderful job!
Sugar ~ thank you so much for the goodie bags... they were beautiful! and so fun! And that beautiful dress!!!!
And I simply can't WAIT till I can get into that gorgeous thing!!! I will most certainly take my pic and send it to you when I get there..... boy oh boy did I truly "make out like a bandit"!!! I will be sass'n around when I can wear all those size 14's I got from Deb D. and all the other things too!!! it's great!!! When I get to a size 10 or 12... I will pass them all on to another that will be so thrilled just like I will be to get into a 14!.... my mind simply will NOT wrap around that concept!
Peggy ~ my dear lady I sure hope you get all rested up today so you can get back to that EXERCISING!!! ~tee hee Your home was simply beautiful and I know you went to so much work and expense for us to come .... I so truly appreciate it! I could of also hugged you at very very least a dozen more times!!!
Cornine ~ how wonderful to meet another new friend in person... I so wish you the very very best on this exciting journey!!! Boy the ride up there went by so fast!!!! not near enough time to get the chatter out that's for sure!!! we would end up in Cal~i~forn~i~a and still be talking!
Colette~ You are a woman after my own heart!!!!! It was so wonderful to meet you! I could just love on you all day long!!! And I am going to take into consideration what you said about keeping good "measurements" and asking for "assistance" when I need it!!! ~tee hee tee hee..... can you "measure" too much??? your 71 year old self was a hoot!!! I love you!
Barbara S. ~ Thank you for the cute pin! That was creative!!! I felt like I needed you to pin the whole basket of them on my shirt as I have so MANY INCES to lose.... oh my gosh "inch by inch" do you think I will ever get there? ~ha I'm sorry I did not know you had hurt your neck before you came. It was so fun to see your baby dress! You do such beautiful work! No wonder you like to do it so well! Such a neat talent!
Mimi ~ That was so absolutely NOT enough time! I feel like I barely got a glimpse of you! I will be just as excited this year too see the new things grow as I was last year when you sent me the seeds!!! Thank you so much for sharing all your seeds with everyone! It would be fun to mark on the map where all your seeds are growing... bet you would be surprised!
Debbie D. ~ There you were AGAIN at another Dr. appt. with me!!! Man I can't believe how very very blessed I have been to have you with me.. IN PERSON thru this whole journey!!! I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with you just like always and you are right ..... it goes by WAY WAY to fast!!!
Now I couldn't end my little post about all the wonderful people till I tell about meeting Susan.... I was on a mission when I started out from home to find out all the dirt on Andy!!! ~tee hee And I knew just the person to hook up with to get what I was after..... and boy did I find out the "stuff" ~tee hee... when I heard it ALL I just couldn't EVEN tell that Andy accidentally let that whole tank of dupe as in DOO~ PEE!!! splatter all over the road!!!! It simply would not be right so I'm not going to say a word!!! Not one word!!! ~tee hee
All kidding aside... Susan it was wonderful to meet you! I pray you will get the surgery you want and that you too will see as I have a resolution to all the health problems you face every day! I will be praying that all your upcoming Dr. appts will go well.
You know I knew as the day was happening yesterday that the Lord was doing something special for me and I am just so incredibly blessed with all the wonderful people that I have met since I started this WLS journey!!! I couldn't even begin to say how many times I have had a chance to e~mail, post, talk on the phone, get things in the "postal" mail and meet in person so many wonderful people!!! I set here with a tear rolling down my face at how far I have come from where I was at 6 years ago! Long personal story but I can tell all you dear people that He has used ALL (not just the ones that was there yesterday) to restore a measure of "health" to me!!! in many ways too! So I ask abundant blessings for you all!
Janet and Renee ~ I missed you both terribly but I understand too.
What did the doc say? All my labs were good and he did not change anything... my fasting blood sugar was 168.... NOT good... but he did not want to change anything as he thinks as my BMI decreases so will the sugar levels.... my at home sugars are normally running around 130 something... so not too bad... but will sure be praying it gets better too. Other than that we talked about calorie count, protein, how much food I should be able to tolerate... really nothing new that we have not already discussed many times here on the board.... I go back now in 4 more months.... that will be my 6 month appt. I asked him how he thought I was doing on the weight loss and he said I was about the middle of the road.... some lose more and some lose less.... I missed my 50 lbs by 2 lbs... but I have a feeling by "weigh in" tomorrow I might just be there?
I was so excited yesterday that it was the worst eating day I'd had since surgery! I was embarrassed about that and felt so sorry for sweet Peggy.... she worked so hard and went to so much trouble I did not want a single thing to "blight" her day!!!
The recipes were wonderful! Peggy made a Chipolte (sp?) pulled pork.... it was fantastic, so very tender! and those custard type things were simply delish! and the Parmesan crisp were to die for!!! and the peanut butter cookies Debbie D. brought were nearly melt in your mouth! I'm not sharing with Paul! ~tee hee I really am going to give him just a taste! and that's all! Apple and Pecan Pies! YUM YUM! I can't wait to make that at Christmas. Baked Beans, chicken salad, meat and cheese platter..... what did I miss girls? It was all so wonderful!!!
I feel like I am missing someone or some thing and I'm sure sorry my memory is not better if I missed you.... but I can truly say I so incredibly enjoyed every minute that I got to spend with each one that was there! You all are simply the BEST!!!
Well I better get off of here and get Paul something ready for super and get some house work done I will be gone tomorrow again to run errands and go see a lady that I went to church with for years, she now has several brain tumors and decided not to do treatments.... she is in her 80's.
And then I have a whole list of errands..... my youngest baby will be home for a WHOLE WEEK on Sunday I am simply beside myself with anticipation!!! I need to get in some ingredients so I can give her a few cooking lessons.... boy will Paul be happy! ~tee hee A few of the things she will be making is the R.B. Rice casserole that I posted a while back, spaghetti pie, with the Dreamfields Pasta, homemade chicken noodle soup... and a few other things too. Weather permitting we are also going to take a day and go for a bike ride on the Katy Trail. Set around and talk till our throats hurt! I have not seen her since I had surgery.
Oh great blessings to you dear folks!
bec
No, you can not measure too much. he he!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful day it was meeting you and having fun. Cor and I just yakked and yaked all the way to Warrensburg. We will have to get together again since we are not very far away. Just wanted to tell you after I ate lunch today I had the feeling you had yesterday and had to do the same. I made the mistake of eating untoasted bread with peanut butter and jelly and my pouch was most unhappy. So you see, I am 3 years out and still have days. Colette
What a GREAT time I had yesterday! I truly feel like all you ladies are family (including the ones who couldn't make it) are family. I cannot put into words how much you all mean to me. You are all the sisters I've never had!
It was great to get to hug all you ladies. The food was FABULOUS and the company was even more FABULOUS! My Secret Sis even snuck in a surprise package for me. Had the cutest little stuffed Queen Bee and she even typed up a special rendition of the "Bee" attitudes. I've got it hung up in my suburban right now or I would type it out. It's so precious to me! She even put in some sf candies. I honestly think I have the BEST secret sis out there! (Sorry but that's what I think!)
Then some of us went shopping. Didn't get to shop too long had to make sure Bec made it to her doctor's apt. on time. Bec and I went to her doctor's apt then to the Lee store and to JC Penny Outlet. We then had dinner at Perkins. Unfortunately, poor Bec's stomach was upset all day. She wasn't able to keep dinner down either. We then had to part ways. I was sad to see her go.
DH went to apply for a job in Lawrence. The manager was out (all day) and the guy at the front desk didn't know where the applications were. Plus dh had picked up the wrong file when he left, so he didn't have his resume with him either. DH is going back in the morning. Hopefully, the manager will be there and David will have his resume with him. The company isn't planning on hiring anyone until the first of the year. It's Outside Sales. So if it's strictly commission, we probably won't be able to do that. Please keep us all in your prayers.
DH was planning on going to lunch with the men from our church today. They have a Men's Lunch Bunch that go to a different restaurant every Thursday. Today it was K&M BBQ in Springhill. Well, I guess the ladies go too when it's at K&M. So went with dh to lunch. The men sit at a different table than the women. Had a really good time
visiting with a few ladies from church. Came home and am finishing our laundry. DH and I also cleaned the kitchen and picked up the living room. I really wanted to clean our bedroom today but just didn't get to it. I'm subbing for a Special Education class in one of our local elementary schools tomorrow. Extra prayers would be appreciated.
My stepson, Josh, is coming out tonight. He and dh are going to finish taking out the old backsplash and scrape up all the old grout. He will come back out tomorrow night or Friday to put the new tile in, then the next day to do the grout. I will be so glad to have it finished.
Mama Jan - I'm glad you liked the outfit. I really did think it would look good on you when I was packing it. Hope you can have someone take in the pants for you. You looked great in the blouse. Thanks for all the seeds. I showed them to Jake and told him you promised me that I couldn't kill these. Jake said "Mom, does she really know that you can't grow anything!?" LOLOL! I will be asking you questions next Spring when I get ready to plant them. I'm really excited about planting all the seeds you gave me. Thanks so much!
Sugar - Was great to see you and to actually get to visit with you! Thank you for the little goodie bag. My husband has the votive candles burning as I'm sitting here typing this. They are beautiful and smell great! I told the kids I'm not sharing any of the candy so don't even ask! Gotta tell you there was a little of the confetti spread out on my kitchen table this afternoon. DH was helping me clean and he went to wipe off the kitchen table and he just kept looking at this little stuff. I said oh it's the confetti Sugar put in all our goodie bags. He says "It looks like little leaves and stuff". I said, yes, dear that's what it's shaped like...just a different version of the old time confetti! lol.
Thank you for the skirt outfit, the black skirt and the black coat. I know I will get a lot of use out of all of them. I'm going to call my friend Pearl tonight and see when she can start taking those skirts in. I want to wear them asap!
Peggy - Thanks again for opening your home to all of us. What a wonderful place to meet and make new friends. You made us all feel right at home! Honestly, you and I are going to have to make plans to get together and do something. We're only about 45 minutes apart. I would love to meet you and have lunch and/or go shopping sometime. I know it's a busy time of year but we could even meet after the holidays. Maybe dh will have another job by then and there should be some great deals out there. Thanks for posting your recipes. I'm going to add them to my WLS recipe file folder that I keep on my computer.
Susan - It was great to meet you! Andy always mentions you in his posts. Feel like I know a lot about you. I will keep praying that you will be able to have this surgery and that all your co-mobilities will be forever cured!
Collette - You gotta change that profile pic! I didn't recognize you! I'd be more than happy to put it on your profile. Just PM me and I'll tell you what I'll need to do that. You are such an inspiration to me!
Barb S. - I wanted to tell you, that little dress you knitted with the bunnies was adorable! You are so talented! How long have you been knitting? Did you actually knit the little bunnies on the dress? I'm glad you posted about Baby, I forgot to ask you about him yesterday. Glad he's doing better. Great to see you again and glad you went shopping with us!
Cor - It was great to meet you in person yesterday! It's cool that we are the same age and have boys that will be graduating in the Spring! Congrat again on your approval and surgery date! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!
Bec - Hon, as always I enjoyed every moment we spent together! I am so thankful the Lord brought you into my life. Thank you for allowing me to share your wls journey. The little scarecrows turned out so cute! I'm going to display it on Thanksgiving day. I know my little grandson, Kameron, is going to love it! I'm like AJ is coming home for the week. She is such a sweet young woman! Please be sure and give her a hug from me and tell her I said "Hello"!
I'm sure you both will enjoy her cooking lessons. I also know Paul will be thrilled!! lol!
Janet - Sorry you and Renee weren't able to come yesterday. We all missed you. Hope you enjoy the clothes I sent and Mike enjoys the jeans. I really would have loved to get to hug and visit with you again. You and your family are in my prayers.
Renee' - Sorry you couldn't make it either. Haven't met you yet but I'd like too! When is your daughter's wedding? You may have posted it but I didn't see it or just plain forgot it. Are you having fun helping to plan it? I hope so.
Susie - Thanks again for the PM about the health insurance. Turns out it's going to be a little cheaper to keep COBRA and it's better coverage. Hope we don't have to do that for too long. Glad you are doing better. Hope you feel a lot better before Thanksgiving gets here.
Deb (Pooh) - I'm sorry you're having so many problems. I will be praying that the doctor is able to find out what's wrong with you tomorrow and can fix it. It has to be hard 3 months out and still having so many problems. Hope you feel better soon!
MO Peeps - Hope each and everyone has a great evening and a wonderful weekend.
Debbie D.
