WHATS HAPPENIG FOR WEDNESDAY

Jan C.
on 6/12/07 1:43 pm - Cedar Creek, MO

Oh my goodness , Joe and I spent all day long cutting , cleaning and scraping Iris. We still have 2 wheel barrows full but a lot of the big bulbs are gone. So we may not have much of a show next year either on them. They may have to grow some I don’t know.

We are going to build up the bed to be sort of rounded so no water can drain into it. As it is now, water, as much as we have had this year can stand in it and has. So we have to find some dirt somewhere to put in there. Don’t have to be great dirt for iris. They like just about anything except rich loamy soil. We have about 2 wheel barrows of leaves off of them and old iris that have borers in them . Took them over to the fire pit to burn them.

Anyone that lives in or around Sedalia several of us will be up that way on the 19th , next Tuesday. Brenda Minks, Craig Lee, Myself, and there is someone else I cant remember who right now. Have Dr. Appointments with Dr. Hornbostel. Then we are going over to the Liberty Park for a picnic about 2:pm  IF you would like to join us we would love for you to be there too. Barbara Scott, Lady Sky, Julia , If she isnt there I hope we can find her and see how she is. Vesta please send me Julias address again. I think I lost it somewhere in this pile of stuff on my desk. Lol

Colette will you be in town? Hoping we could see you there too. Anyone else live around there that they could come out and visit for awhile.  Becky will be there with us too.

Craig is suppose to bring his brother and his adopted sister but since his brother is so sick don’t know if he will or not. Dena said she might drop by also. If it would be storming and raining we can go to the Golden Coral im sure at that time of day they wouldn’t mind us sitting in the back room.

Sherr brought a dare to the board today. Wanting us to put in our blogs what we eat daily but what about if we have a regular post like the whats happening post? Sherr would you want to man that? Just put up daily what you ate yesterday and then everyone could join in. I cant get to my blog daily by the time I do this and answer all the emails I get , sometimes as high as 20 and 30 I just don’t have time to blog . lol

But I would have time to list what I ate yesterday on a daily thread. Love the idea Sherr.

CHERYL: wow the Disneyland rose sounds fantastic. My roses are really in a sad shape this year. They are blooming but not a leaf one on them. Well there have been in the last week some new leaves coming on. They all got froze off during that late freeze. Which caused black spot. I am spraying spraying spraying but doesn’t seem to be doing much good. I may wind up losing them yet. I have 12 roses climbing roses on the back fence and then 6 tea roses and 4 florabunda roses . all seem to be in the same shape.

Except for the cheap blaze roses that I bought last year at wal mart and put on an arbor up front. Lol wouldn’t you just know that is the way it would go?

Yes I have some beautiful colors of iris. I will bring you a bag to the meeting on the 25th if you will come . lol bribery you know. Cant guarantee what colors they will be but will be sort of a grabbag.

Thanks for posting on whats happening.

SHERR: wow sounds like this guy is pretty special. He looks pretty cute, Yeah haven’t you ever heard the new song out about city girls always fall for the southern boys…?

Lots of them are good ole boys but lots are bad ole boys too. So be careful. I know you like him but don’t let the hormones overload your brain lol. Take it slow ok? You deserve the best and just make sure that he is the best.

Sorry that I scared you about that silly ultra sound but needed some prayers going out just to be sure.

Tired from having a date??? Well!!!what in the world did you two do???lol

Sounds like you have a very sweet young man there for a son. He sounds like he is very grown up for his age. The not missing work even tho he is sick, not a lot of kids will do that. Most will try their best to take off when they can.

Sounds like you have done a really good job raising him.

ELIZABETH: I knew I was in Gods hands too and was ok with what ever they found. I knew he was with me and that if that is what he had planned for me to go thru ,that there was a reason why.

Sounds like your hubby and mine are a lot alike. Joe likes doing the housework better than I do. I guess he got use to doing a lot of stuff for a while when I got so disabled to be able to do  he just picked up and did and never complained. If is said anything about how bad that made me feel he would just hug me and say ,I know that if you could you would.

I know I have the Iris named Stepping out don’t have the other two tho.

I have tried marking mine and the markers always get knocked down or what ever so I just enjoy them and don’t pay any attention to where they are. Now I really wont know where any of them are and will be exciting to see them bloom again. I probably wont have a great show next year since so many of them will be small and take another year to grow. I have never had the iris borer get into them before. Don’t know why they did this year.

I agree that the obese are anything but weak people. Yes on food issues but not on life and especially when they decide to have this surgery it is a rough way to lose weight. I get so angry when I hear , oh they took the easy way out. Phooy if this is easy then I would like to see hard. It is a daily struggle to eat what we need and have to have to stay healthy.

Sure hope one day that you can get to the meetings. Oh and if you ever do bring the remaining Protein powder to the meeting and im sure some one will be more than willing to buy it from you, if not anyone else I would.

CINDY: Thank you for careing and praying , Yes I believe very strongly in the power of prayer. Yes I am blessed by having so many wonderful friends that did stop and say a prayer for me . I know that is why they couldn’t find anything. If it were there God did away with it. YEA GOD!!!!

You will be in S.C. this month or in Sept. When Janet gets back maybe she will run all the details on the board again.

VESTA: Thank you my friend. Cant wait to see you on the 25th. I don’t know what we would do without our prayer warriors. I don’t wont to find out do you?

So sorry to hear of you grandson . Have they found out anything today?

We will have to raise him up to the throne of God and let him care for him.

BEV: Im sure that God knows what is going on with me and he is able to take care of me. So im not really worried about it. Thanks for the continued prayers.

I have heard of that book from several people . They say it has some really good info in it too.

LOL I remember once before I had surgery that I kept saying to myself that I don’t eat that much I shouldn’t be this fat. Well after keeping talleys daily for a week of everything that went into my mouth. I was shocked really to say the least. The smallest day of recording was over 2000 calories lol. No wonder I was fat. Lol  Now im lucky if I can force down 800 cals.

LANA: No if the iris haven’t bloomed already they wont bloom this year. Usually iris bloom in the spring around the first of May. But this year set everything back . Mine didn’t have buds on them that you could see yet when we had the freeze but they must have been there somewhere. Because very few of mine bloomed. What is usually a riot of spring time color in the Iris beds was very sporadic and very few at that.

Yes probably from the description in your email I would say the tomatoes are getting watered too much. Like I told you tomatoes would rather be no****ered enough than getting too much water.

Going to get into bed since we need to go find some dirt early in the morning and pick up a few things and get home and unload the dirt before Ryan needs to be at work at 3:00 we are letting him use our truck till we get their car back on the road.

LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Momma J:   You are soooo funny....I just posted on my yesterday's thread about putting the "Double Dog Dare up HERE too...I will do that then.  We'll see how it goes.... EVERYONE:  Double Dog Dare Daily Post will be to Add what you ATE....THE DAY BEFORE okay?   So today's "Double Dog Dare 06/13/07" post you will add YESTERDAYS food/drink intake... Does that seem to make sense?   Again, I do not claim to eat the exact way we are supposed to...it's more of an accountability issue with me.   AND PLEASE PRE OPS, POST YOURS TOO....it might help you see how WE POST OPS eat...  I will try it for a couple of weeks and see if we can get a following.   Momma J.  I know what you mean about being careful and making sure Bill is a good man.  I should be an expert on BAD MEN...lol.... I think I got sooooo hiped up from getting meet him, that I exhausted myself before he ever got here.   LOL  Does that make sense?  WHen I get mentally overloaded, I get exhausted.  He and I began building our relationship online and on the phone last month....so part of me feels like I have known him forever.  But I also know that I have been lonely for a long time so I must try to use my brain.  But it's sooo hard, because Bill is sooooooo dreamy :) lol As far as my kiddo, I can not take much credit for how he turned out.  My mom and dad have raised him, myself and my sister to be responsible people.  Sometimes we lose our minds and boy do WE PAY FOR IT...lol My mom is the reason Dylan is such a good kid, but on the same flip, she is also the reason he can be lazy, when it comes to chores, homework etc...and then I have to become a hard ass and put down the "iron fist" which HE HATES.... But my mom really loves him, and pets him and gives in and does HIS chores a lot of the time.   Both my parents are STILL great role models.   I gave Dylan the best life I could for him, and how he will end up.   So all day yesterday, I helped mom finish up with her Vencian Plaster Faux look...OMG, I was DIZZY afterward...I don't know if its because of the fumes or just exhaustion.... But it looks SHARP :)

time with my out of town guests!  We laughed so

much, my sides are hurting today.  Wings has

the most beautiful daughter. I am so glad that

Megan is going to college in Columbia, that

will give Mel and Wings a reason to come and

visit again when they visit her, (hint hint)!! Those poor girls were worn out from all that

driving, but they managed to stay up late and

visit with me and I am so glad they did!! I

love you guys and you are welcome anytime to

stay. Its 5 days and counting for surgery.  I am

getting so excited. I cant belive it is finally

almost here!! YEAAAAAAAAAA!  Well ya all take

care and see ya soon!

Jan Wow, I thought I had alot of emails.  I usually

get about 20 a day but thank goodness that most

of them are jokes cuz I would never beable to

reply to all of the ones you do!!  We were all

talking about how great it is that there are so

many more people posting on the board.  When I

started coming to OH, maybe 2-3 posts all day

and now its lots of questions and people

sharing whats going on in their life.  I am so

glad to have all the old timers, (I tried to

think of a nicer thing to call you and the

others who to help, but cant, okay maybe young

experienced timers, lol!!  Thanks for staying on

and being here for all of us!!

Tammy-ammy How ya doing Sis?  I know ya get to see Mel and

Megan today.  We had a blast!!  We all sure

wished you would have been here too.  Maybe

next time we will have a PJ party you could

come too!  Bet ya are gonna be so excited to

see what you have lost already!!  Let us all

know!

Erin I know that you have heard of sometimers its

kinda like alheimers (sp).  Well I must have

all the timers, I feel so stupid and forgetful

all the time.  I cant belive I got you and

Michelle mix up.  I have been addressing

Michelle in my Whats Happening post, and I

thought I was talking to you!  Good grief I

feel stupid.  Thank goodness Wings and Mel got

me straighten out.  So hello to both of ya,

on coming down there when I get better.  Love

ya girl!  and your welcome to come back

anytime!

Wings What can I say girl, we had a blast huh?

Remember Me Casa, You Casa!!

Oh yea, I was going thru my emails and filing

them and I seen that Layla and Wings wanted to

know what ROTFLMAOAPAOTP was.  The APAOTP

means, it means "And Peeing All Over the

Place".  I know it sounds gross but I swear I

was about to pee on myself when Mel was telling

the hairball story!!  I better go I have been

at the office for an hour and a half and have

done nothing but read posts and type here, lol!

REMEMBER WE HAVE A CHATROOM MEETING TONIGHT!!

Hello Missouri, Yesterday was rainy to start but then the sun peeked out and it was steamy.  I stopped and got food for DH and I on the way home from work because I just didn't want to cook.  I don't want to get alot of stuff in the refrig because we're leaving Friday AM and leftovers, which I have lots of, will just go into the trash.  I am hooked on Arby's Roasted Chicken Salad Wrap.  On their website it has about a zillion calories but I tear off most of the whole wheat tortilla and that helps some.  It is pretty good with pecans and apples in it and its all white meat.  I really like it.  DH likes all food!!! We have a homeowners association meeting last night about the kids vandalizing the pool area.  I think it went well, some of the parents were reluctant to admit there was even a problem but after awhile they came around.  There was too much evidence of things being mysteriously broken!!!  We just bought over $5000 worth of new pool furniture and we have to make sure it won't get vandalized before we even get to use it.  All in all, it was a good informative meeting and some really good solutions were brought up.  Thank you Jesus!!! I don't use the pool, too fat, but I want it kept well-maintained because of the added value to my property that a community pool brings.  I don't want it to become a liability!!! I've started piling stuff on the spare bedroom bed and I already have way too much stuff to take on our vacation.  I like to take everything I own.  You just never know what you'll need!!!  I might use the kitchen sink!!! Susan, sound like you are really ready for Monday.  You are going to do awesome.  You have the greatest angels in the world. Jan, so glad your report was good.  After the next mammo, if there is no change, they will probably release you to go back to annual exams.  I moved the tomatoes in under the eaves last night - about killed my back.  I looked down on the stems and there seem to be some white spots, tiny, so I think it might be aphids.  Also, there was at least one ladybug so I think she was working on them.  I want to get tomatoes off them so badly.  My neighbor will water them while I'm gone.  Also the petunias, geraniums and my habenero pepper.  That'll burn my tongue off for sure.  I'll give you some if I get a good crop. I am so proud of all of you, post op and pre op.  You are all doing so well at losing or at keeping the faith while you wait for the time to pass or for approval.   Sherr, I agree with Jan, go slow.  That said, I know you have gotten acquainted with Bill on line and on the phone so it is not quite a new relationship in every sense of the word.  We want the very best for you so we're going to be cautious for you, OK???  But he's definitely worth a second glance!!!!! Hugs and love to all of you.  You are my inspiration. Lana

Hey Jan~ Ok--don't give up on them too quick now. My step-mom told me of a trick to do with them she learned from her boss at work. Ok, first cut all of the dead leaves off and throw them away. Ok...now...on the stems when you see the leaves by the buds or after they have bloomed cut them back...count back 5 and clip. It encourages more growth and you get SO MANY more blooms. Let me know how that works out. Dave has to be in Atlanta during that meeting..so I will be all by myself..so I don't think going will be a problem (both kids will be with their other parent).  Cheryl

Well Just a few short days tell surgery. I can't believe it is almost hear. It's been a long time coming. My liquid diet is going great. I can't believe how well I am doing. Still no cheats. Not saying I don't want to but I haven't. I keep around people that hold me accountable.  I'm ready for the ride of my life! Susan- I didn't even know you were addressing me as Michelle. I didn't read what you'd said to her since it wasn't addressed to me. All well. I have not had any more head aches. Knock on wood. How are you doing with the liquids?   Jan- sounds like you've been hard at work. Keep me our of the garden  I will just make a mess. I'm so clueless in that area.
Grace & Peace,
Erin
