Hi!! My introduction...

Well, I will more than likely be there...but my fiance probably won't be able to come.  He works nights and sleeps days, but we'll see!

HI  I also am having Dr Baker do my surgery. I usually drive  to rogers for the support group there but Im hoping to be able to make the COF on the 25th 2 days before my surgery on the 27th  this is an exciting time for sure! Im glad you found the board and I look forward to getting to know you! nutti:wave:

Where abouts do you live??  How did you hear about Dr Baker?  He got a glowing review from a close family friend for me, add that to the fact that all my family lives around Little Rock so I'd be able to have them around for help and hovering (blech)....and viola! I am definitely gonna do my darndest to make it to the 25th COF meeting...so if you are gonna go let me know and I'll look for ya :-)  Have you been to one yet? My fiance and I live in Ozark...which is right close to Springfield anyways so.... I definitely look forward to making a new friend, thanks for the message :-D

I found him on the internet.  I had heard that Babtist was a COE and takes medicare sooooo...I went looking. we went to the seminar and I enjoyed meeting him and found him to be very informative and seemed to care about the people he could help.  so there you go. I have not been to a COF meeting because I am scared of Springfield...EVERY time I have had to do something there I have gotten LOST.  so I avoid it like the Plague.LOL I live in Carthage.  at the moment I am without Transportation because the van died and is now in the shop and I cant drive the toyota...to big to fit behind the wheel. sooooo Im hoping to bum a ride. Yup me too :-D Yeah, he was extremely informative...and I loved meeting Becky from his ofc that had had RNY in the past, she was a living example!! Have you been to Dr. B's required Support Group meeting down there yet or done the nutrition conference call??

hun he doest require you attend support group down there but that you attend A support group. I have been to 3 support meetings and I did the nutritional call 2 times just to make sure I got all the info I needed at the moment. my surgery is on the 27th. I start my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow 16 days and counting nutti:wave:

When I talked to him, he said I HAVE to go to at least one of the support group meetings down there.....and then after that I can go to ones closer to home... I'll probably end up doing the call more than once as well, but gonna do it for the first time this week. WOOOHOOO  Day 1 of liquids, how's it going?  What kind are you drinking??

Rianne, Welcome!!!  I live in Nixa so we are neighbors.  Do try to come to the Circle of Friends group.  It is awesome and there are quite a few people who come - like 25 to 30.  It is very unstructured in that we don't have speakers, we all are the experts, whether it is in getting approvals, getting past the jitters, foods, protein powders, etc.  You will fit right in, you're at such an exciting time in your journey.  Hope you can make it.  Also, keep posting and reading everything you can find.  I don't think you can have too much information. Lana,  Thanks so much for taking the time to write me!!  I used to work over in Nixa at a group home, and still travel there every now and then to go to Shake's (I know I know...it's no good....). :-P I will definitely do my best to make it to COF, I really appreciate ya'll being so nice and giving me all the information on it.  Thanks again! :-) Keep in touch!  Hugs~Rianne

I attend the COF support group as well-and would love to see you there.
