Hi!! My introduction...
Hey all! I am new to WLS, OH, and the Missouri Forum. I just wanted to say a quick hello and introduction of myself.
I am 23 years old, and I live in the Springfield,Mo area with my fiance. I graduated from College of the Ozarks in Branson with a degree in Chemistry May 06 and start nursing school at St John's Nursing School in Aug! Only a little over a month after my RNY date of July 16.
I have not attended the Springfield support group yet...could not make it tonight. I won't be able to make it next month because I'll be in the hospital after my SURGERY!! :-D But, I am hoping to start coming in Aug. I'll look forward to meeting you all.
Thanks so much for the welcome...I've been posting on a few of the different boards...just trying to find my niche. So far I've encountered nothing but friendly people that have been very supportive and helpful on all of the boards!
I probably will stick around for sure....I love Missouri...especially since I have stayed here after graduating from college :-D
Easy is....well easy ;-) I am actually going back home to Arkansas for my surgery...(shoulda put this in my intro...but hey...) My surgeon is Dr John Baker in Little Rock, Ar. He came HIGHLY recommended by a good family friend who has had nothing but success after her surgery so that's who we decided to go with.
Also, because here in Missouri, my fiance works nights and sleeps days so he wouldn't be around too much if I needed something or if something happened. So, back home I have all my family that lives nearby (Heaven help me...) in case I need or want something. Plus, it just made my mom feel better...HA HA I'll be staying w/ her for a couple of weeks post op and then my fiance is taking a 1 week vacation when I come back up here to help me transition easier.
The Circle of Friends support group doesnt meet until the 25th of this month you are more than welcome to come to that one if you would like we would love to have you. A lot of people that post on here go to that one. We would love to have you. It starts at 6:30 and is located at 2620 Battlefield at the police/fire station in the comunity room. your boyfriend is welcome to come with you too. a lot of husbands and wifes and boyfriends and girlfriends come too. welcome to the Mo. board and you have a wonderful life all planned out and cant wait till you are healthy enough to really enjoy it . Oh, I was only aware of one support group in Springfield associated w/ St John's.
Thanks so much, how often do ya'll meet in case I'm not able to make that meeting...though, as far as I know I should be able to make it.
I really appreciate the invite! Do ya'll have a big turnout each time? And, are there people of all ages there or is it primarily one group??
