WHATS HAPPENING MONDAY

Hey all ! I have borers. Lol Iris bores that is. We spent all morning digging up all my iris to treat them and then to thin them out too. So my walkway around the Iris bed is filled with Iris laying out on there. Will have to cut them apart , cut part of the fans off and dip them in a bleach solution. While we have them out we are going to build up the Iris bed. It has setteled and gotten too low and causing water to hold in there. Iris don’t like wet feet so that contributes to the problem too. This is a really big Iris bed too. About 50 ft by 5 ft at its widest point. So you can imagine how many iris are in there. I would say many 600 to 700 we will take the excess and plant up along the driveway I guess and then the neighbor wants some too. Maybe have some to bring to the next COF meeting if anyone is interested but have no way of telling you what colors they will be. I have several old and new ones mixed in this bed so don’t know what is what right now.

 

Wow did it ever rain yesterday(Sunday) We got about 2 inches in about 4 hours I think. Were under a tornado watch but it declined to a thunderstormwatch. That is good I never know at what point to go get my granddaughter and her babies out of her trailer.

So I sat out on the back porch and watched the sky off and on while reading a book.

 

Yeah Janet posted about the reunion and the resort . I already have my reservation made. The cabin I have has two bedrooms but we will only use one. But if anyone out there wants to come and cant afford a cabin by themselves. If they want to share one it will be a lot less. Like only 49.00 for 2 days instead of 78.00 for two days. 2 people is 39.00 a day and 4 is 49.00 a day. So if this is you let me know and maybe we can share.

 

Well the two days I have to work this week is Thursday and Saturday. So I think unless something happens I will be in the chat room Wednesday night. What time does it start. I have something to do between 8 and 9 but if it last later than 9 I will be there.

 

Monday ,today, is my appointment for the ultra sound of my rt. Breast. Pray that it isnt much of anything. That is what I am holding onto anyway. That it is just another cyst or a fat nodule which I have a lot of those in the rest of my body. Do any of you have those?

Little round hard knots in different places in your body>? I have them in lots of places. I guess some of the fat I had was so old it just made a knot lol don’t know. I showed the doctor and she said they were no problem unless they became visible to other and bothered me.

 

TAMMY: You sound like you are doing just great. So glad that is the case. Im axious for you to get that nasty drain out and then you will really feel good. So glad that you took good care of yourself before hand and followed the rules.

We will all be rooting for you to have lost several pounds. Do you feel lighter?

 

That is wonderful about able to get in enough fluids. Very good. That is the most important thing right now. And that is amazing that you are able to do that . So glad. I still have days that I don’t get it all in. Mostly due to forgetting about the surgery and what all I need to do daily.

That is the biggest mistake a person can make is to think they are normal and don’t have to worry about stuff because the facts are that we will always be abnormal now and have to keep the rules in place.

 

Sounds like the four of you will be having a great time. Makes me wish I was there with you.

  

CHERYL: that is wonderful that you are losing about 2 pounds a day enjoy it while that last. And it will for quite a while.

Don’t know what the feeling in your calves could be other than the fluid leaving your body ? Keep your fluid intake up and walk as much as you can.

Yeah this thread is for anyone to come on and tell what all they do daily so we can get to know each other well.

Yes I love my ponds. I have 2 of them up front and one in the back yard plus a fountain. And building another one over in my retreat area in the shade garden. It is very small tho. Just wanted the sound of water flowing.

Hope you enjoyed your family weekend. I am hoping for you the rest of the week will be easy now. Will keep you in our prayers for surgery.

  

JANET: Im excited for you all to be able to get together like you are going to do. Wish I was a fly on the wall with the four of you no telling what you all will do. Lol

That is great that you lost another pound. I am trying to lose some more too. Since I have a check up day in Sedalia with Dr. Hornbostel on the 19^th I would love to be down to 170 that is what his goal for me at one year. And that will only be 10 months. We got all off on the checkup dates and I don’t know if he wants me to come back in around a year or this counts as my yearly checkup. I hope so it is a long way up there to just see him for about 15 minutes. I guess if I were having problems he would see me longer but when you don’t have anything wrong there isnt much to talk about with a doctor. Lol

 

Oh I c about Melissa and the tummy tuck. Sorry I guess I was all confused , that isnt much new tho.

The present for Megan isnt much just something I saw that was cute . Didn’t you say she is going to be brought down to the chapel in a carriage ? This just ties into that theme.

Be sure an take some pictures so we can all see them on their wedding day ok?

 

That would be great if you find a good deal on a pool like you had or even just a plain above ground one that is a real good deal. Ok

 

Thanks for keeping me in your prayers  while im at the ultra sound . I really do think it is nothing and refuse to worry about it until someone shows me anything else.

  

RACHAEL. WOW sounds like you have been busy  Sounds like mama misses her boy already . Im sure he is enjoying himself tho they always do when they are away from home. And the chores aren’t nearly as bad to them in another place lol don’t know why that is but they always mmore willing to do things for someone else.

That is wonderful that you spend some time with here weekly. Seems as we get older sometimes people don’t want to be around as much but the ones that bother to do so , like yourself are really blessed when they do.

 I can probably get into the chat room this Wednesday when we get back home anyway.

Will try since I don’t work this Wednesday. But work Thursday instead.

  

DENISE: Well hopefully you wont get too tired going back to work. I get so sleepy even yet today . but I think maybe part of that is habit of taking a nap almost every day. Not a long nap but a nap neverthe less. Lol

Oh yeah I think a lot of people have named their pouches. Mines name is Little Jesica. After my neice who is the pickiest eater in the world , well so is my pouch. I never was picky about anything I ate but have to be now plus little Jessica has her own likes and dislikes for sure. How come your is named Joey?

 

That is great about your daughter and losing already. Hope she continues to think eating healthy is cool and makes it a life style change for herself.

  

ELIZABETH; Hello stranger. Glad to see you again. Sounds like you are really busy, 2 jobs , exercising, and landscaping too.

Watch out for that horrible poison Ivy. It is one of the worst things. Sounds like you have some really big plans on the water feature for your home. That is great and sounds wonderful .

 

I am afraid to try and get my body down to a size 6. Im afraid I will look like a dried up ole prune, since I am so much older than all of you. But I would like to get into a 8 or 9. which ever.

Stay well and keep on going you will make the size 6 soon im sure.

I don’t doubt that God will take care of me tomorrow. And I guess if he decides it would be time for me to come home there isnt much I can do

Jan... I know that you have your hands full with the iris.  Those are one of my families fav. plants.  We would show them during my childhood years so I am very familiar with everything that goes along with having Iris.  You get so used to their "quirks" that it is just second nature to you.  Even our kids know how to plant an iris now *s*. Yes Mike and I are both so very busy but we always seem to try to make time for our gardening.  I think that it is a form of therapy for us... we both equally love doing it so I am blessed.  Not too many husbands are as nuts about it as their wives are but I am blessed to have a husband that loves nothing more than to sit and discuss things of this sort.  Even the mowing...we BOTH love doing it so it is never looked at as a chore. As for your size... nahhhh I don't think that you will look like a dried up prune...you are beautiful inside AND out...   So much on tap for tomorrow....  unfortunately I have to head back to work bright and early in the am. but at least I don't work the 2nd job til Tuesday night so that will be a welcome break.  My 2nd job is my FUN JOB and oh boy do we have fun.  So much more refreshing than my "real" job... so that is indeed a blessing for me.   We got loads and bunches of rain this afternoon but no bad storms that buffeted the S.W. region.  We just got the torrential rains.   Sure wish that I could attend some of the Circle of Friends meetings but I have just about given up on that.  From time to time I have tried to plan to attend but then schedules change and I find myself working.  The weekend of the reunion getaway is on a weekend that I work on Saturday til noon... so even if I were lucky enough to get away I couldn't even possibly get there til mid afternoon.... bummer indeed.  So I guess that I will just have to listen to everyone sharing their experiences on the board after the fact.  Hey that is better than nothing!!!! *s* Well it is getting late and I had best head to bed.  Kitties are curled up and snoozing and puppies need to be let out before bedtime...   Everyone have a peaceful and calm Monday! Hi, Everyone I hope I'm doing this right!!! I have been out of town all week-end, and was so relieved to hear Tammy-Girl is doing so well, I hope the gals I have been posting have been getting them. If so, please send me a short post, if not I will probably have to call my son for help. HE hates that! Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ Most of yesterday it looked like it was going to rain any moment-will it rain? wont it rain? That was the thousand dollar question-and I was too afraid to get out in the pool with the kids, the towels, toys and all the acc, just to have it start 5 minutes after we got in~ We have been in before-heard thunder, and within a minute-saw lightening bolts-so I dont go in when it looks like it did here yesterday!  The rain started about 7 pm-in MASS amounts, and has rained heavy ever since. They said on the news last night that some got up to 3 inches of rain in a little over an hour-by the Joplin airport-but that some parts of Joplin werent even getting rain yet? There was a tornado that touched down by Asbury-and so we were wondering if we were gonna go through that again-didnt have the energy to stay up until 4 am like I did Thurs night-LOL-so we brought all 3 cell phones to bed with us-knowing that between Mel and my mom-someone would call with a tornado warning in Diamond or Granby since we dont have any sirens-our sirens consist of the sheriff coming to houses, blowing his horn or talking through the intercom, telling us to advise our neighbors etc-thats probably my biggest complaint living out here-no tornado sirens and the storms are so much worse out here-and the sky is always so dark!!  Its still coming down and our pool is at max capacity-and our yard is flooded and so is the one pond!! If it doesnt stop soon, I will have to drive 6-7 miles AROUND to get off Kodiak since both the nearest places flood over enough that you cant drive through it-so we have to go all the way around to hit the freeway-its crazy~ I sure will keep my eye out on a good pool deal for you, you bet. I will even make a couple of calls and see if I cant dig something up.....Keep your fingers crossed for me. ~~I had an amazing WOW moment yesterday-Steph brought me a pair of pants that fit her before she lost her weight-that I love-and I put them on-OVER my jean capris-I can even get them zipped and snapped-but they were too tight for me. They are like those hip hugger ones, but I was in 7th heaven-and on a cloud that I got them all the way up and zipped-so they are in my "I can wear soon" pile-I have had to have taken off some inches-because I have only lost 16# since March-cause of those stupid steroids! Jan-I just know your test will be okay-I get those fatty cysts and caffeine ones (or so they told me once thats what they called it) and I am not believing anything else. Please let us know as soon as you do-and we are praying for you, you know that!!

On the chatroom, last week we started at 8, but didnt leave until 11-so come on in when your done-I may be late as well, not sure if I will be home then or not-I am really hoping to be, but dont know! You know me, if you have any Iris left, I will gladly take some off your hands. I still have some I need to get planted-do I need to put them in some sort of solution before planting them? I WILL take pictures pf the wedding and share them with everyone-LOL-I will bring them to the meeting so you all can see my first born getting married. I just sit and look at her sometimes and relive memories of her growing up-I just cant believe she is going to be married and moving away-it bums me out to think she will be that far away-but I am so happy that she has the chance to do this for herself and I think she is going to love it so much!! The good thing is that I will be able to go and visit and she can have people stay in her dorm room with her for up to 3 nights-so that will be cool. She is getting a private room and we are going to be moving her up there the middle of August. Thanks for thinking of her-and its the thought that counts-Im sure she will love whatever you got her. **Chelle-Where are you? Did I scare you away with my email? I hope not-I just wanted you to know your thoughts are normal and that you shouldnt doubt the surgery will work-thats why we have the surgery-so SOMETHING WILL work for us-right? I care about you-and I am so sorry if I offended you or made you mad. Please come back to us-LOL...WE miss hearing from you. **Sherr-I am SO glad your date went well-and when I heard you told him about the surgery and YOU want to see him again-I knew that you like him-thats wonderful. I will be praying that he stays a decent guy for you-you sure deserve it-so keep us posted and I will keep you in my prayers!! **Denise-I am so happy to hear about your daughter-how wonderful~I know when I saw Steph lose weight, it was just awesome-and she ended up losing 30#. My 4 yr old lost 3#....Its hard to see them overweight at such a young age and then look back at your past and see what they are headed for-no one wants that for their kids. I know I dont, and you dont want to force something on them, so its a touchy situation...I will make sure and keep you in my prayers-and hope that everyone around her will help her stay on track-good luck!!

**Lana-Do you realize that I have lost the same amount of weight that you weigh right now? When I saw that-it really put it in perspective that I have lost enough weight to make another full grown person? You look stunning AND I am so happy for you!! LOL...I also have to meet with Mel so that she can get a picture of my tattoo-as I am going to have it enlarged and framed and giving it to my doc with a thank you card for everything she has done for me-for saving my life. I know it sounds tacky, since its her job and what she does-but there is something so special about her-that I feel this bond with her and just love her to pieces. I have been so lucky to have her in my life and with my other doctors as well-my PCP and ortho surgeon-they have ALL helped me so much with this process, but Dr. Fearing has always gone above and beyond and she has just touched my heart and soul. Please pray that we have safe travels and a safe trip. I will be praying for everyone else who has ANY issues-and I hope you all have a safe Monday and stay dry. Good Morning Everyone:       Wow it has poured here on and off for the last 2 days. Started Saturday night and it is still going on out there. I was looking out the front window and watching the water fly down the streets by the curbs. Alot of rain but cant complain. When July & Aug hits and it is so blooming hot we will be praying for rain.    Well had a good weekend. My sistr came up Friday and left on Sunday morning. We were everyone Saturday left the house at 6am and didnt get home until almost 10:30pm. Both Terry & my sister feel asleep as soon as their head**** the pillow. My back and knee were hurting that I didnt gett o sleep until around 4ish am. The I woke up at 5 when my sister walked out the door and the screen door slammed shut. She no more left and I was going back to sleep and Dad got up and wanted bacon & eggs. I gave up tryin to sleep after that. Terry & dad went on a few errands I got abut a 1/2 nap before my phone started ringing. So I got up did dished and finished the laundry. Now I just have to put it away. And figure out what I am wearing both days.    All in all I had a great weekend. The best part was getting to swim for a short while. Oh man it felt so good. And I got to see my lil man and play with him for awhile.   Well hope everyone had a great weekend. And that you had a blessed week coming up. Thanks for all the prayers. Jan~ Hey. Yeah, I think stress might have something to do with what you lose too. My son's dad knowing I just had this major surgery got me upset lastnight ON PURPOSE. I stayed at the same weight all day. Today though I am at 188. I am keeping my fluids going and my walking. I actually was able to get on my sit down bike lastnight for 10 minutes. I love IRISES. I have the purple ones in my flower bed. I would like to have a variety sooner or later. Maybe if you can part with a few that would be awesome. What is the information on the COF support group meeting?  Cheryl

Good morning Missourians, Lots going on today.  I am gettting very excited about the slumber party tomorrow night!!  I broke my dang Drivers lic yesterday so I gotta go get a new one after I leave work today and I am not looking forward to it, it seems to take forever there.  Well I have 10mins to get things together before I gotta get out of here so I better run.

Wings After I read your post about the card and your feelings I was about to start crying myself.  I didnt do anything that you wouldnt of done for me!  I know we have a special friendship that will last forever.  I love ya too girl, see ya tomorrow!@!

Hello OH and Jan Don't have a lot of time to post today but wanted to get in here and say hi to everyone. I think I am trying to come down with a cold I have been sneezing and blowing my nose all day long. I hope it doesn't stick around long. Jan haven't heard anything as of yet. Hope everything wne tokay at your appt. today. Janet, you really weren't an itch in that email it was just what I needed to hear and it would take a lot more to scare me off than that!!!
