I've been MIA lately with all the work (two jobs) and then gardening and cleaning on top of that all.   We are now starting on the back portion of our property in trying to reclaim it and get it cleaned out.  The upper portion has been mowed and cleared out but the "way back" as we call it hugs a stream and borders a small forested area.  We are slowly trying to reclaim that and get the underbrush under control.  Of course that is done whilst trying to dodge the ever present poison ivy that is in ABUNDANCE.  eeeeekkkk it is something else.  Some "vines" are 3" in diameter and going 30'+ up in the trees.  Those bunches will have to wait until winter... we will cut them at the base of the trees right now and wait for them to die back... we will still have to be careful though.  Even with it wilted and dead. Still working on the future landscaping projects as well.  I have been planning an extensive water garden for a long time.  I could go ahead and put in a little one at this time but I would rather wait til I can do the type that I envision.  We will be utilizing a rather steep slope at the side of the house/deck so it will have an upper pond/stream cascading about 10-15' and then flowing into the large pond at the base of the slope.  All of this will have a meandering path of steps cut into the hillside and then plantings all around it.  Alot of work but I am getting the designs all lined out.  At the base, where the large pond will be I want to build an 8x10 pergola and have "floating" pavers in small polished stone for the floor of the pergola.  On the sides of the pergola we will put a few grape vines in.  WHEW.   never ending work this landscaping ... but oh so much fun! It is raining right now... so I'm stuck in the house.  Will be starting with laundry and assorted housework soon.  Went to the store and got some chicken breasts to simmer for dinner.  I will through in some carrots, vidalia onions, and celery to simmer and then cube up some 'tatoes to throw in the mix.  That will be dinner tonight. I'm also in planning mode for our yard decorations for the upcoming holiday season (we start with Halloween)...  our biggest display is Christmas but we also decorate for Halloween, St. Paddys day and Easter.  Our Christmas display is "Candyland"... we have gingerbread houses, gingerbread people, huge candies , tinsel garland trees, etc.  We make most of these things by hand and we are always planning bigger and better...  To give you an idea of the size of things...  our "candies" range in size 12-20" diameter to the candy "sticks" anywhere from 1-5' long.  The community really enjoys it and we love doing it. I have been tinkering with my diet lately.  Still working on trying to get that last tiny little bit off the old bod.  I am shooting for a size 6 if possible.  I have been in 10's for a long long time and I can wear some 8's... but I would really like to shoot for a 4-6 (probably a 6)...  I have upped my proteins but am also going to be restructuring the carbs and how/when I eat them...  that along with an added push at the gym should hopefully do the trick.  The other day Mike and I did our workouts in the gym and then we got into the pool .   We ended up doing another mile in the pool (running, not swimming)...  I did it with my arms held out for maximum resistance and drag.  Oh my did I feel it in my chest wall for the next few days... AII YI YI....  ...  Everything else is just peachy keen in our lives....  Hope everyone else is doing swell and splendid....    Blessings to each and everyone.... Elizabeth------->

Momma Jan & Crew...

Okay....I had to come and tell you guys that I had a great date with this TN boy, we went out to dinner and I explained to him about my WLS and what led me to it...How it works, and how it has helped me.

I had to tell him because he thought I didn't like my dinner.  LOL  He kept trying to take me somewhere else to feed me....He also wanted me to eat his dinner, thinking my salad wasn't good...LOL

He didn't seem to freak out about the WLS, but I guess I will see how it goes.  I definitely want to see him again.  We had gotten pretty close just by talking on the phone and emailing, but seeing him in person was even better.

I hope everyone is well!

Hello Missouri, I'm here, I'm here.  Thanks for missing me, Susan.  I have been so busy at work and then today we got up and out of the blue decided to drive to Kansas City, 3 1/2 hours, to go to COSTCO.  I know it is crazy, but we do stuff like that.  We had fun, and came right back home.  Were gone a total of 8 hours and 7 of those were driving!!!   We have been having some trouble in our neighborhood  with vandalism at the community pool.  DH is the association president so all the "stuff" falls on him.  He's really getting tired of it and so he's scheduled a community meeting for Tuesday night to discuss solutions.  I think I'll go just to be entertained. I am still losing well.  I'm down to 156, 90 pounds gone since last summer.  I wear 10s all the time, at Costco I just went over and picked up a pair of pants and didn't even wonder if they would fit and they do!!! We leave Friday AM for Virginia until the 24th.  I'll be at the COF meeting on the 25th, wouldn't miss it for the world.  Can't stand not seeing you guys. I made my reservations at the resort for the reunion, think John is coming with me.  WOO HOO!!! Wish I could come to Sedalia on the 19th to see everyone up there.  Think of me and I'll think of you while I'm in Virginia.  We're driving so I think I'll take all the clothes I own!!! Jan, I hope you find some shoes that make your feet feel better.  I like BORN or Clarks for comfort.  I will sure be praying for your test tomorrow.  I know it is nerve-wracking but God will take care of you. I love all of you so much.  You mean the world to me.  I pray for you, no matter what your concerns - they are important to me and to God.  He cares so much for each of us. Hugs and love, Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."
