I was told by the Dietician to use the High Protein Slim Fast shakes.. but after comparing them to the low carb slim fast shakes the low carb had 5 more grams of protein.. weird!! I was put on a 5 shake a day diet. I didn't handle that very well because I had really bad headaches. So I did 3 shakes a day and a light dinner.. like salad and a piece of meat. That was it. I only lost 8 pounds on preop but...? It worked. Good luck  Denise

I loved the SF Carnation Instant Breakfast--they filled me, though I still wanted to eat. :)  Plus, it was a lot cheaper than the other stuff.

I came home from the doctors office with my diet.   what a releif for me. its not just about how much you can loose quickly but to help get the colon cleaned out and ready for the surgery.....I have been experimenting with all of the suggestions made here about flavorings and such.  Im finding it very helpful. good luck on those diets! nutti

My famous suggestion, which I got from someone else on the board, is to make Campbell or any other soup you like and then strain off the veggies and/or noodles and drink the broth part.  So much better than broth from cubes or the can.  I wasn't on clear liquids so I used the protein powders that I bought to use after surgery.  Watch the calories on the prepared stuff and I think the ones with highest protein would benefit you the most.  It isn't easy but you can do it and the result is so worth the struggle.
