WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY

Oh boy have I had fun today. I had all 3 of my GREAT GRANDBABIES all on my lap at once today. My daughter took some pictures of me with them  so as soon as she edits them and sends them to me I will put them on my profile . I hope they turned out good. Sort of neat but seems weird too to be the GREAT GRANDMA. I remember when I had my kids pictures taken with their great grandma, It was because she might not be around for much longer and wanted to get pictures of the kids with her. Lol Hope that isnt the way they were feeling lol

While I was holding one or the other of them I really got to remembering my mom. She loved the babies so much. You would bring one to her and she would sit for hours holding them.

 

Spent the first part of the day cleaning up the house and yard. We now have the swing up and by the water fall. Looks really good out there.

Did two loads of clothes and got my stuff ready to wear tomorrow at work. I am taking my tennis shoes with me and if my feet start hurting like they did Sunday I will put them on and if they don’t like it I will just go home I guess. Lol.

Jobs are a lot more fun when you don’t have to work.

 

We fixed grilled shrimp for supper. I had sprinkled them with garlic powder  and pepper and basil. They were so so good. We had green beans and salad with them. Joe also grilled a steak for himself too.

This sure didn’t seem like Tuesday seemed like Sunday for some reason.

 

Well im going to get the recap done and will then be ready to post this. I think I am worn out …

  

SHERR: so sorry about your mom and the shots not helping. Mine seem to be better. This is my second round of them , you know you can have them 6 months apart but if the first round didn’t help her 3 more of them wouldn’t either. Im really sorry about that because they have helped my knees a lot.

 

I had a mamagram here while back and they see some sort of something on the mamagram so they want me to come in for an ultra sound of the right breast just to make sure. I think they should be able to telll me something right then but don’t know. Im not worried about it. No need to worry if it is something then I can worry and if it isnt all this time would have been wasted by worrying about it. Lol

I will let you all know as soon as I know anything

My appointment isn this next Monday the 11^th.

 

Sweetie I don’t know if that could be a hernia or pulled muscle or what ever. Does it hurt really bad? I would say if guessing a pulled muscle but who know. Don’t worry about it . if it feels better when you rest then rest. Go to the doctor as soon as you can and see about it.

 

JANET; I know about those days and have had several in my days. Lol

I use to say , Mama told me there would be days like this, she just didn’t tell me the would all come at once. Lol

So sorry about our teen daughter. Listen al teen agers are a little nuts so don’t worry about it. One of these days she will change lol . I hope her dad or Mel talked some sence into her brain.

Yep sounds like you are heading for a busy busy month this month too.

 

Have you heard anymore from Tammy? Is she still in ICU?

Has your hubby been better today? Anymore falls?

Let us know about the resort as soon as you hear from them . I think a lot of people are anxious to get their rooms booked .i know there are plenty of them but still anxious. Lol

SUSAN: How nice of you to print out Tammys get well cards. I know you are on your way to Columbia or are already there by now.

Oh on the fertilizer of miracle gro…..i would use the one for flowers. When you have vegs you want to use the fertilizer that will produce big crops of tomatoers or fruits.

LANA: happy that you now have a permanent person to  be our boss. We will be waiting to see you online tomorrow.

 

 

Melissa: lol such a shame to have to behave. I hope you are feeling better. And your normal is sort of like mine too. Way out of kilter from others lol .

So glad tat you and Terry are doing better from your surgeries.

Just know that you and he are both in my prayers.  That will be wonderful if you go back to school this fall. What will you be studying ? Take care of yourself we all love you and miss you .

Momma J & Crew: Reading about your Babies sitting on you made me smile.  I loved my mom's mom sooooo much.   I was her favorite....lol...NO REALLY!  She loved my son even more....He was only 4 when she died.  I still think of her every day.  Dylan remembers her.  Thank God......She loved me like my mom does, without any of the rules, nags, *****es, and common sense talks that moms come with!!!   I can't wait to see the pics.  Also, I will pray for you on your Next Test.  I had an issue with my Rt. Breast in Feb. of 04.  Had to have additional testings, but turned out to be nothing.  I am hoping for the exact same outcome.  I broke down and called this reduced health center yesterday, went in and had an exam and bloodwork. And ironically, it didn't even hurt.  The nurses in the office ALL freaked out at how much weight I've lost.  They all made me "Twirl" around LOL I have lost 101 pounds since I first when to the facility.   They only do basic medical treatments at this place.  But, it's not a hand out, and I won't have to wonder, my bloodwork should be back today sometime.  AND it didn't EVEN hurt when they took it!!!  That rarely happens for me.  Some of you older Post-ops may remember LuckieD...or "Becks"....well, I called her yesterday on my way to getting my hair cut, she had her phone stolen and lost all her phone numbers.  She said she will come on and post.  She was at the airport, heading to:  Italy, Greece & another wonderful place, I just can't rememver where...lol   I will let her come and update you guys on her process and what's been going on in her world.  It was sooo nice to hear from her.  She had her surgery on 8/29 and was a lifesaver to me, as she drove all the way from Kansas City, MO down to Columbia the day of my surgery, just so I wouldn't wake up all alone.  I have never had someone do such an un-selfish thing for me.....then, she had her sweet sister that lives in Columbia come and check up on me during my weeks stay in the hotel on Broadway to make sure I was walking like I was supposed to.....she opened up her entire family for me, and they were all so loving and kind.  She told me I should come to Columbia this summer so that I can catch up with her and her sweet sister.  I hope I can afford to do it....I would love to visit with her again! THANKS Janet & Momma Jan for coaxing me to get to the doctor's office.  It's just that money is soooo tight right now.  I sold some of my business shoes (((I had great shoes))) online at semo.net this weekend, and was able to pay for the doctor's visit, a haircut, nails & pedi & give my son $10 for every "A" he made on his report card.   What a blessing that was!    Thank you again! Good morning Jan and board, well Jan I am trying to find thread to match the thread on the pillow cases and they just dont have all the colors they use to have I am still looking though..I just wouldnt look right unless they are the same color. I may just have to use sewing thread and try that because you want them to be original..they are so pretty...I will have them done by next meeting. Blondie I think I have a pulled mussle in my boob, I cant go without my bra or it really hurts, the ole girls are getting so saggy and I am big boobed..if they keep sagging I am gonna trip over them..lol...anyone else have this trouble?.....Vesta

Dear Jan and OH Peeps, Wow-hate to recap yesterday-wi**** would have been more like yours, Jan-but it wasnt *sigh*  I woke up with a migraine-thought it was the way I slept-but think not-LOL...I literally had it until 9 pm last night! My daughter came by and picked us up to go to town....couldnt get the phones we wanted-then my mom was such a mess with crying in pain etc-then I got a phone call from Mel and her incision had come open-and enough to soak through the bandage, her pants AND her shirt-Holy crap! All of that before 11 am...I went to my attnys office and the secretary told me that Mike and I must pay for "2" classes with Consumer Credit Counseling-which is $50 PER class-what the hell? Isnt that something that maybe they SHOULD have mentioned before now? Money is so tight right now that I just dont know whose ass where gonna pull that kinda money from! We have to have that certificate from them before we can get our case #....*sigh again* Then the daughter is asking me about this place or that place for the reception and about the cake - and the place she checked out wanted $250 for it-and its not even that big. I couldnt even cry because my freaking head hurt so bad!  I then got a call from Joe-and he said Tammy was STILL in ICU~Im like why? they keep telling those 2 that the surgery went well-but wont release her to a normal floor-Dr. Scott wants her to have one on one from the nurses right now?  They didnt even walk her until after 1 pm yesterday-I called Tammy about 6:30 last night and she sounds really good-she said she was waiting to hear about the leak tests-hadnt had them yet-except the one you get in the operating room-and she was wanting/needing to start taking her gas-x....so she was waiting to hear about that. Geez. Wish I was there-and she said the same thing-she said MAYBE IF I were there-she would get some answers finally-but that the nurses told her that they really werent familiar with bariatrics patients and so they would TRY and get the answers for her-told her TRY my ass-tell them you WANT them to call the doctor and get the answers for you! Period. At any rate-she sounded really good-and Susan was there visiting with her. I will call her later on this morning to see how things are going and if she has had her leak tests or not. Doesnt sound like she will be going home today-so maybe tomorrow. Got home about 1 pm, tried to lay down for a bit and see if the migraine would go away-but no such luck-the kids were a bit on the noisy side-and I think my phone ONLY works when I am trying to rest-LOL-cause it rang 6 times in 1/2 hour and I finally told Stephanie to put it on silent for me....still didnt work-could hear it vibrating across the table-LOL-so I got up and asked the kids if they wanted to swim, so got everyone ready and went out and let them play in the pool while I did my laps and water aerobics-in which I didnt hurt afterwards, but this morning couldnt get out of bed for about 10 minutes. My back hurt so bad that I took a pain pill right after I went to the bathroom~aw. Vicodin and coffee, that will wake you up! Im still going to do it again today and every day as long as its not raining/lightning to see if it will build up muscles in my back and help with some pain issues-time will tell~At least the migraine is gone...its not that it crippled me, but that constant throbbing, just on the left side, including my face and eye-starts to get on your nerves!! It didnt help that in the pool, I got knocked in the head 2 different times with the heavy soccer ball-at which point, it got tossed out of the pool and told whatever child threw it back in the pool area-they were out for the rest of the day-no one even looked at that ball again-LOL.... **Jan, cant wait to see the pics with you and the babies!! What a blessing! I remember my grandpa holding Jon for an hour at a time and just smiling and smiling-and this kid that never would sit still for anyone-would sit on his lap-at 6-9 months old-and not move an inch-he would just sit there and stare at gramps and maybe reach out for his face-thats it!! We would just be in disbelief at how still he would be-he sure brought a lot of joy to my grandparents-and I am glad that he got to do that, even if they both passed away the year he was born-(they were much much older than you, Jan!) I wish they could see him now, heck, wish they could see me now!! I will be praying that work goes well for you today and that your feet dont hurt. I hope it all works out for you!! Maybe you can get your doc to write a note about your tennis shoes-thats what mine did because of their policy at the hospital-he wrote a medical excuse and they just put it in my file and that was it-I could wear them when I needed to. **Sherr-I am so glad that you went to the doctor-I was praying for you and that you would go. I hope it is simple, like a pulled muscle or something easy. Please let us know something as soon as you do-ok? I will keep you in my prayers. Doesnt that feel good when people who havent seen you in awhile act like that? Makes you feel good, doesnt it? I know its weird-I am still much bigger than you-but it sure doesnt bother me to get weighed at the Dr. anymore like it used to-cause I got too heavy to even be weighed-so now-I am almost sprinting to the scale-LOL LOL....Good luck!!

**Mel-what am I gonna do with you? Girl, I wish I could make you better. I wish that you didnt have these complications-and I fear that you wont be in that pool with us this summer at all!! I hope you do-would love to have you out here doing laps and aerobics in there with me. Its always more fun with more than one!! I know your at the doc right now-so I am praying for you and I hope we get good news. We better get good news! I will be waiting for this phone to ring..... Well, Mel posted on the prayer request yesterday about Rachaels hubbys grandmother passing away while they were on their way up there. Please keep them in prayer! I hope they are all okay and the travels are uneventful. I am not doing much of anything today but some calls and I have to go to Diamond for a couple of things I didnt get yesterday. I am going to just stay put and chill out. I think Darrel is going over to Mel and Terrys to mow their lawn, and thats about it. Will probably get in the pool this afternoon after it warms up a bit. Am going to get my shake and vitamins in and get my day going...I hope that everyone has a good day and is going alright. I am going to post later today about the resort and about our MIA'S....theres too many people we havent heard from in awhile!! Good morning everyone, isn't it a nice day out?  Supposed to be in the 90's but other than that the sun is out and I feel good! I was so excited about last nights seminar with Dr. Hornbostel I really enjoyed it and it was very informative.  Dr. H. seems like a great guy and I can't wait to work with him one on one.  I am going to get my paperwork filled out today and fax my copy of my insurance card along with the release of information to Dena.  I want to get everything in ASAP so that I can get the ball rolling on this.  Dr. H. made me feel confident in my decision in having this surgery and now more then ever I know this is what I want.   I was a little surprised to find out that if I just had straight medicare instead of the replacement insurance which is Humana Choice PPO medicare pays for the surgery across the board right away where as this other insurance I have "Humana Choice" they are harder to work with per what Dr. H. and Dena said.  I'm thinking seriously about calling and dropping Humana and just have Medicare so I can get this surgery!  I don't know if I can drop it at this time they may have certain dates that you can only do that?  I have to call and see if they won't let me drop until like Nov. or something then I guess I will keep them and see if I can get them to approve my surgery in that time and if not then they will be dropped!!!!!! I feel so hopefull right now knowing that this is possible for me and will be a reality shortly.  By this time next year I could be on the "loser's bench" with all you other losers!!!!!  I think my only regret is going to be, "Why didn't I do this sooner." I just want to say thanks to everyone here that has given me so much inspiration and encouragement.

Dear Bev, I am so glad to hear you liked Dr. H, everyone who has had him has just raved about him-I think you will be more than pleased.. I didnt have medicare when I had surgery, but have worked with insurances and hospitals for 13 years and know that all insurances have an open enrollment time, and that will be the only time you can change something-unless it were individual ins and there was a change, like adding a child or something-at any rate-I would recommend you wait and see if they will cover it or not-and then, if they wont-make sure you get the info on their open enrollment times, and you can change it at that time!! Thats what I had to do-and it made the wait so much worse, but my cobra insurance denied, and then denied 3 appeals-so 4 denials-and then I dropped them, but it was cobra and so I had the freedom to do so without an open enrollment period.  One really good thing for you is that you do already have the ball rolling, right? What you might do-is call Humana and ask IF WLS is a covered benefit or not. IF it is listed as an exclusion, than they arent going to cover it, regardless-unless you were employed and it was a self funded company-thats the only time, but since its a medicare insurance type deal-I would think if medicare covered it, they may with co-mo's, which it sounds like you have. I know, from reading your posts that you arent a patient person (me neither) but, we WILL ALL PRAY for you and for a smooth ride with this-and IF the ins you have WILL cover it-Im sure Dr. H's office will know exactly what to do to get it covered with the first request~How exciting for you!!!  I just wanted to reply to you-and I hope you keep your chin up and stay positive-and we will be here for you should you need  us for anything-ok?  Take care Bev and have a great day and keep us posted at what you find out, alright? hello been awhile since i posted but have some Questions and wondered if any of u all would be nice enough to help and tell me how it went for you...when u go for ur 1st Dr appt in Sedalia what happens after that? like how long till ur surgery and etc? i have my Pscyh out of way, dr release, application filled out online, had to wait 5 months for my appt and its still not till end of Aug so seems like forever waiting!!! just wanna get this show on the road... tks for all ur help Sheila

just wanted to tell you I went to seminar in Sept, had doc appt in oct and surgery in Nov.  that will be 2 years ago.  I had medicare as number one insurance.  Doc. H.  is very busy now, as a lot of people go to him.  Hang in there, your time will come too.  Colette

 thank you for replying..ya i went to seminar in Feb and got  all my stuff done by march then  couldnt get 1st appt till Aug 29th...i also have Medicare as my insurance but also have medicaid, will that be good? what surgery did u have and how much did u lose? anything u regret about doing surgery/ tks Sheila

Glad you got to the seminar.  I told you Doc. H  was a great guy.  I had straight Medicaire and a supplemental and got approved in one week.  Just wanted to tell you I  am glad you got the process rolling.  If I can help let me know.  Colette
