Seminar completed-Yipee!!

Hello everyone, I just wanted to say that I attended my required seminar today in Springfield to be qualified to meet the surgeon, Dr. Scott in Columbia. I have 2 of the 3 steps done already as far as their required paperwork to be able to schedule the appt as well... I am so excited-I am finally on my way. I am telling you what-sometimes this road we travel is just so bumpy and nerve racking, but then days like today....make me realize that I can do this and I will succeed. I am so happy. I also got to meet one of my pen pals from here- Sherr, that was wonderful and we will be going through this journey together and I am so glad for that!! I just wanted to post this and let you all know that we I FINALLY got the first step out of the way and now the ball is rolling-WOO-HOO...to all of you that replied to me last week and cheered me up-Bless you-love you all!! Hey Janet, Thats great you have your seminar out of the way. I'm sure you'll like Dr Scott, I was with him when I first started all this and did like him really well. His seminar was very informative and all, and his staff was really helpful to me. I had to stop going to him because of Medicare or I'd prolly be having my surgery this month. I know what you mean about the road we travel being bumpy at times and so nerve racking but I know if we keep on trucking with our heads up we'll get to the end just fine. I went to my seminar this last week for Dr. Hornbostel, I came away from there like you did, sooooooooooo excited and ready to get started again, its great meeting new people going thru the same as us. Janet So glad to hear that you made it home safetly. And that your one step closer to getting your appointment with Dr. Scott. He did my surgery and I just love him and all his staff. That really go out of their way to make you feel at ease and to make sure you know what your getting yourself into. Glad that you was able to meet Sherr also. I had a G-friend that was suppose to be at the meeting also named Rose Ann. I havent heard from her yet to see what she thought of it tho. Congrats Melissa

Hi Andrew, Melissa and partner in wls crime (LOL), Thanks so much! I appreciate all of you. I love this site and what it does for people, and I love the fact that you took time to make someone you never met before smile-Do you know how wonderful you all are? If you dont-YOUR WONDERFUL!! : ) Andrew-I am so sorry you had to endure starting with one surgeon and finishing with someone else-that was a major "pothole" in the bumpy road-huh? IF you can get through this and even take the time to give others a lift me up-you will be just fine, I know it!! Why? Because you havent given up-you have it in you!! You will succeed and we will be reading your WOW moments on here before you know it! Way to go!! Melissa, Yes, we did meet Rose...she was a little quiet, but so was I.....Sherr was the life of the party. My husband had a heart attack on Thurs, but he INSISTED on going to the seminar WITH me, and that I not cancel AGAIN...as I have had to cancel 2 previous seminars and that was hard...due to it being just an hour away this time, we went, but he was very uncomfortable, and it ran almost 2 hours longer than they anticipated, so that made it even harder. I just kept praying that my husband would be okay.....and my excitement was overshadowed with the worry of him, I must admit-but I am still excited all the same!! Sherr-you big doof-you were NOT too nerdy, you were nothing but what I thought you would be-and that was perfect, beautiful and a wonderful person. I look forward to having you as my sister, now that we have found each other....and I cant wait to go through this journey with you. It will all be okay!!! I love you sis. Thanks guys-if you EVER need someone to tt, or just want to vent or ??...email me, I am here for you...I think it helps to share this experience with people who love you unconditionally AND who have been there before you or with you at the time. Janet Sounds like you and Sherr had a good time at the seminar lol Thanks great. Im really finding that knowing people that are going through the same thing we are helps so much. Just the short time I've been coming here has helped me more then anyone will know. Thanks so much for your encouraging words, I know starting over was bummer but like someone said awhile back to me, everything happens for a reason and Im sure God had His reason for me not getting the surgery done with Dr. Scott. Im totally comfortable with Dr. Hornbostel and truely believe this is my time. Hopefully one day we'll all get to meet up and have some big laffs and WOW moments. hi janet, i was reading your post and i am just starting out. my seminaar is july 22. so what do u do after the seminaar? did u get your paperwork at the seminar or did they send it to you or what? can we make the appt. with the dr. before the seminar so when we are done with seminar then we won't have to wait as long? i am new to this. please help me,lol. patty

Hi Andrew and Patty, I have emailed both of you-so check your emails and then email me back....so we can get to know each other better and be there morally for support.
