Two year surgiversary today also!!!

This has been the most amzing ride ever!  Right now, two years ago, I was coming out of delayed surgery, and first question was "was it lap?" (yes), "did the gall bladder go?" (yes), then got up and walked about two feet that first evening.  Time just flies, and those first three months are a blur without going back in the journal.  Yes the WOWs are quickly apparent during that first year, although even this past week I've had several:  finally getting to 129 yesterday morning, finally wearing baggy size eight shorts/capris, very comfortable sixes  and with the Lasix diuretics four times daily, FINALLY shed the extra twenty pounds of water weight which prior to diagnosis, felt so defeating, having followed the proram to a 't' the majority of days...was 131 this a.m., although will watch closely to not get above 135.  Still awaiting approval  for bilateral medial thigh lift, which will be interesting to see how after that swelling  and healing, the weight will surely maintain close to or under 129 .  Surgeon set a 125 goal, which I've doubted all the past year, although no can clearly, confidently envision !  Yes, weight loss DOES occur beyond the first eighteen month window of opportunity:  just keep true to our program and exercise .  When a bad day  arises, just pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off, and proceed forward. We must remember daily, this is a life-long journey, even after attaining personal or surgeon's goal.  Am unable to run/jog due to the MS, although I walk faster than any of my friends who often have problems keeping up--thin, moderate, or other!  This new lease on a healthy life has been priceless and merely costs Dedication, Determination, and Doing all the right things!  Best of the best to each of you--never give up, as each morning is a clean slate new day  and provides new opportunity to modifiy previous day's detriments.  We are strong, we are intelligent, we can follow through true to our initial choice and conviction!  Have a marvelous weekend fellow peeps!  Lots of love and hugs galore, Patti

Thank you so much Elena!  Actually, I had no fear whatsoever the four months prior to RNY surgery--until the night before, the anxiety shot through the ceiling and I'd documented choices for everything other than financials already set.  Am scared to pieces about the double thigh lift, although again have researched, spoken several times with the plastic surgeon, and will not back out due to fear.  This is my weekend to work (having been off three weeks) and will be out of town next weekend although sure looking forward to seeing you again!  I probably won't even recognize you, you're so much smaller!  Keep it up girl friend!  Lotsa luv and hugs galore, Patti

Thank you Amy!  Every time I see your current avatar, it reminds me to go get some hair 911!  Still keeping prayers going for your surgery--there's no way it won't be approved because you've paid it forward here for so long, it will come back a hundredfold!  Looking forward to seeing you again--felt so badly for not even recognizing you at Lucy/Randy's shower!  Ugh!  This is my weekend to work--after three full weeks off, then will be outta town next weekend, then working the next, though gotta get over to the PN Wed. group again--been too long!  Take care of you!  Lotsa luv and hugs galore, Patti

My Friend Patti!  Congrats on what is the second of many sugarversaries in your future.  The most remarkable changes in us are the ones that most can't see on the outsides.  The confidence, the spirit, the drive, the hunt for us to be who WE want to be!  Its amazing.

Sometimes we just need a kick in the pants when we are down.  Get back up, don't worry about mistakes!  The mistakes will always be there.  But the promises we made to ourselves wins in the end.

This board has been the best thing for me during my almost 8 month journey.  Great friends, great fun, and most of all GREAT US!

Looking forward to tonight and next week!  Lots of time to chat!  See ya!
