Back from a week at the Dells!
So my Reader's Digest Condensed version:
I felt NORMAL!!! At all the pools, going down all the water slides, on the boats, everywhere we went - I FELT NORMAL!!! Buying clothes off the rack in L or XL? No fear about whether or not I'd be getting funny looks, I just blended in! No fear about whether or not my ASS would fit in the seats on the boat tours, in the inner tubes, in the hotel towels - it was SO UPLIFTING to feel NORMAL!!! There were plenty of other men and women there who were WAY heavier than me! And I really didn't know what to think about that - to feel sorry for them? To pity them? To wish better for them? All I know, and I may tick some people off with this thought, but - WHY ON EARTH would swimwear manufacturers create BIKINIS for women who weigh WELL OVER 250 pounds??? I saw LOTS of them around the pools!
I also have reason to believe that I may well be on my final days of insulin! I have only been on a "whiff" of lantus, 12 units/night, since April. I tested morning and night on vacation (and I was NOT a saint in the carb department), and I only gave myself shots 2 nights - yet my #'s were really good! So I'm going to see how it goes without ANY for a spell! If it goes well, I'll put in a call to my PCP and see what he thinks! I COULD BE INSULIN FREE REALLY SOON!!!!!
Any way, I'm glad to be back, excited to hit COFFEE tomorrow morning! (There is a definite lack of coffee shops in the Dells!!) MISSED YOU ALL!

(We got to spend some quality time with a baby tigger!!! And yes, there's a photo to prove it! Photo ops are almost absurd in the Dells.... shoved down your throat, you might say! But we all JUMPED at the chance to get up close & personal with a tigger cub!)

Welcome home Darla! I'm so happy to hear that you had a great time. You deserve it so much. Did you take pics? I want to see some. I have never been to the Dells. I think I may have to put that on my Bucket list (along with going to see the four heads.... Mount Rushmore).
I know what you mean on the seeing women/men larger than yourself. It's because you have been there and you only wish the best for all who struggle with weight issues. I usually say a little prayer. I don't know if that's wierd; but I'd like to think that someone said a prayer for me once.
We need to get a VF thing going on. When can you go?

very soon! I didn't wear size XXX two piece swimsuits when heavy or morbidly so--but did go to the lakes/pools and wore that was comfortable--now am just lovin' my size eight and ten tankini's

You were missed around here.....Elena updated us with pictures of Hazel, looks like Hazel may just miss Elena a bit, she spoiled her rotten........Elena is a keeper for sure........
