WOW~  I am very concerned about this...!!!  I continue to see the great folks at Womens U of M Specialists for my 'issues' and they operate through Fairview-Riverside...!!

I surely hope both sides find a happy medium and not cause many....many... peeps to have to reconsider their healthcare directives...  uuuug..!

Edited for spelling:  Hello.. can we not get spellcheck on this thing?!

My husband is affected by this he just got a letter in the mail that he can no longer see his Endo at the clinic by our house because it will be out of network.  He did contact BC/BS and found out that he can drive down to the U and see him there because University of Minnesota Physicians is not affected.  I guess it is cliincs that are owned and operateds by Fairaview.  The U of M mediical center (the hospital) will also be affected Oct. 23rd if the contract isn't renewed.  I guess the confussing part for us is that Br B and Dr I clinic isn't affected but their hospital coould be.  That would suggest that our office visits are covered but our surgeries are not?  I really hope they can reach an aggrement cause it sounds confussing and a lot of people won't get the help we need.

I work in the insurance industry and have heard rumors of this for a while.  It would TRULY suck, but then again, my BCBS doesn't cover most of my WLS stuff.  BTW - you look sooo good - love your avie.

Hey... I found this statement from Fairview Health Services

Important information for Fairview patients in the Blue Cross Aware network

For the past several months, Fairview and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota have been working to reach a new agreement for Fairview's participation in the Blue Cross Aware network. We remain hopeful we will reach an agreement with Blue Cross before the contract expires Aug. 23, so your Fairview providers and services can continue to be covered at in-network benefit levels.

As your health care provider, we are concerned first and foremost about your medical care and are committed to reaching an agreement that does not compromise the exceptional, high-quality care and service that you know and trust. To keep you informed, we have created this special Web site. Check it often to understand what this situation means for you and your medical care. You also can call us at 612-672-7272. (If you have questions about your Blue Cross coverage, contact Blue Cross online or call the customer service number on the back of your medical card.)

Each of Fairview's more than 22,000 employees and providers is deeply committed to providing an exceptional patient and family experience. We appreciate the opportunity to serve as your health care provider and look forward to doing so in the future
