OT: Sad News about my uncle

I think you can be thankful that he didn't suffer very long.  It can be really rough on those left behind when they pass quickly like that, but for your great uncle, it's a blessing.  My dad hung on for several years - which was more stress than anyone needs in their life. 

Sending up prayers for you and your uncle's loved ones.  Saying goodbye is very hard, be thankful for your faith.

Thank you Darla, yes in a way I was relieved that he did not linger and suffer.  I thank God for the faith I have because I know that without it this would be so much more difficult. I just have to be okay with the fact that I am not able to understand His plans or reasons behind why He does what He does.  Luckily I was able to talk about it with my mom and dad tonight and that helped as I spent the first half of my trip crying.  I think everyone knew that it was for the best that he passed quickley, because from what my dad said the problem sounded really painful.

Thank you Kathy.  Yes I am very close to my family and have a great network of friends (many of whom are here on OH) that I am able to rely on during this time.

oh hon-sorry to hear about your uncle, but you are right, he is at rest and at peace.  You have been through some major stuff lately-hang in there and know you are loved-prayers for you and your family going up!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. The loss of someone we love is always hard. Even though we know they are now with our father. He is at peace now. But if you need to talk, let me know.
