OT: 5K Race may not happen..family illness
Well, I posted yeaterday that I still planned on doing the 5K, well today I found out that my great uncle is very sick he is having major problems with his heart but is too weak to have surgery needed to fix what is wrong. So, my sister told me that everyone has put that weekend on hold as we may all be traveling down to Illinois for a funeral. Sad, it seems everyone in my family is getting sick. I am praying he will be okay and that he doesn't suffer.

Nicole - Sorry to hear that your great uncle is not doing so well. I will pray that his strength returns so that the doctors are able to fix what is wrong with his heart. You've been looking forward to this 5k for a while so I hope that everything works out for you. And, if it doesn't, there will be other opportunities. I give you major credit for being so persistent through everything - my lazy self would have taken all of your set backs as a sign that I shouldn't do the 5K.

Thanks! From what my sister said I guess his health is going downhill really fast, so I am preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best. I have decided that God will let me know what he wants me to do. Thank you for the prayers!

Sending up prayers for your uncle, and your whole family. With your grandma and all, it does seem to be a bit much. But you have your faith. And if the 5K wasn't meant to happen at this particular time, that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of other opportunities - the Autumn Woods Classic is coming up in a couple of months up at Elm Creek!

Thank you Darla! I am just waiting for someone else to get sick now as these things seem to happen in 3's. I am praying that if my uncle does pass that my grandma is feeling well enough to make the trip because they were really close and I know it would tear her apart if she was not able to go. I will keep the Autumn Woods Classic in mind and look for some more info on it, thanks for the heads up on that one!
