My foot/ankle--Good news/Bad news
Well, I saw the doctor this afternoon and the good news is that it is not a stress fracture which I guess everyone, including my sister, were worried about. The bad news is no weight bearing activites for a couple of weeks. I begged and pleaded with him to give me the green light to do the 5K with my ankle/foot wrapped. He said I can do it, but it will hurt, so I am going to do it. Until then I picking up a bike when I go to my parents place this weekend so I can still exercise without continuing to use the part of my foot/ankle that is injured. It was sort of funny when I was talking to both the nurse and the doctor and I told them about my weightloss and starting to run and they were both amazed at my susccess. Oh and another good news.....I am out of the 180's! As of this morning I am down to 179! Which means only 39 pounds left to loose....I think this is the closest I have ever been to my goal weight! YeeeeHaaaaaa!
Thanks Kelly! The Dr said I won't damage it any more by running/walking it will kust hurt. My sister said the day of the race take Tylenol before the race, she will wrap my ankle for the race and then more Tylenol and lots of ice after the race! We were talking about going to ValleyFair after the race, so we will see what happens, maybe I can just keep ice on it while we drive down there.
Diane~The 5K is next Saturday at 8:30 am around Lake Nokomis in South Minneapolis. From what the race's website says avoid parking on the parkway because once you park you won't be able to get out until all of the races are done around 10:30 am.
The doctor said that while it will hurt to run/walk on it too long I shouldn't do any more damage to it.

The doctor does not encourage a lot of running/walking even when wrapped so for the most part I will be biking for exercise. That and he checked the bones in my foot, ankle and lower calf to make sure it wasn't anything to do with the bones. But, he did mention that when one starts to run or walk a lot the bones do shift a bit.
