frustrated and depressed!
Chris, I know the feeling of being frustrated during the beginning months of this sugery. We have the same clinic and when I had issues we tried everything in the book in the beginning which seemed to make it drag on and last longer than I needed. I would suggest asking for a scope test. This test resolved everything for me. It may not be for you but it would certainly rule out any strictures of smalleness of your opening. That was my problem my opening to allow food or other things through was way to small. Once they made this larger oh everything changed for me. Be persistent.
Wishing you all the best. If you ever need to chat and let it out feel free to PM me.
Take care.

Chris,
I agree with all the others - be persistent and GET TO THE DOCTOR. This is not typical. I know Angela (who posted right before me) had what sounds like the exact same thing happen to her and it was miserable - you have to be your own advocate and be demanding about your care - there is NO reason you should have to suffer like this - it is NOT NORMAL. Good luck and be strong! YOU DESERVE IT!
Thank you everyone for your replies and well wishes. It has been a rough couple of days. Like I said, I talked to the clinic on Friday and she put me on liquids for the weekend and switched me to prilosec for my tummy. Saturday morning I took my pills with some milk and threw up later that morning. Drank water and had popsicles fine the rest of the day. Sunday morning I took my pills and pretty much started throwing up right away. Nothing would stay down. Not even water. I rested for a while as it has resolved itself in the past, but by 1pm, I still wasn't able to keep anything down so I called the on call surgeon. Unfortunately, the on call surgeon did not do WLS and had no idea about it. He said that he could admit me to rehydrate me and then the clinic surgeon could see me this morning. So off I went to Fairview Southdale yesterday afternoon and spent the night. I got 4 bags of fluid in my 24 hours there. I had an upper GI xray with barium done this AM which came back normal. Dr. Pierce actually said that my pouch was dialated, but the opening out was just fine. Not sure how they can tell the size of the opening on a two dimensional xray..... Anyway, he said that he wasn't accusing or pointing fingers, but said that a dialated pouch is usually cause by eating too much at a time. Believe me, I am not eating too much at a time. If anything, I haven't eaten much of anything solid for weeks. Does anyone know of anything else that could cause the pouch to dialate? I was released today at 3pm with a new med for my tummy and orders to stay on liquids for the week to let my pouch rest. I will keep in touch with the clinic this week if anything else comes up. I am still really frustrated. I am keeping clear liquids down just fine today, but I am scared to move any further with the diet. I don't feel like anything came of my night in the hospital other than getting rehydrated.
On a happy note--I am down 53 lbs since I started this journey in December. 39 lbs since surgery in May. Not too shabby for 9 weeks. I am happy with that, although I already don't like my arms. Oh well, can't have anything. I am already healthier. My BP in the hospital never went above 117/77. Very nice!

Call to hear that you got hydrated!! This will help with the throwing up!! Take a it slow with the foods for a while like they said. I do have to share with you however, that I had the X-ray too with the barium . This test for me came back just fine. I still continued to have problems and at this point I was completely frustrated as I'm sure that you are. After another week of not being able to even keep water down I talked with Donna at the clinic. Luckily for me Dr. Benn was in the office and requested that I went to to ER in the morning. This is where I finally had the scope test done. If you are not better within a few days I would highly suggest begging for this test. Again not saying this is your issue but it would be great to rule it out.
Wishing you all the best!! It will get better!!
