frustrated and depressed!

I am tired.  I am tired of not being able to eat.  I am tired of throwing up.  I am tired of this constant pain in my chest whenever I want to drink.  UGH!  I talked to the PA at the clinic on Friday and we came up with a plan to change from zantac to prilosec and just do liquids for the weekend.  I am to call her on Monday and tell her how the weekend went.  Well, it is not going so well.  According to the package, prilosec can't be crushed or chewed (yuck) so I assume that means no splitting either.  Well, the pill is not huge by any means, but big to me.  It seems to be getting stuck just like all my other smaller pills.  When it is stuck I can't drink anything.  I have been up since 6:30am and haven't had anything to drink that has stayed down yet.  I am not nauseous, just get that feeling like it is in the back of my throat and I throw up.  I think I see a clinic visit in my near future.  I know that I just have to wait for it to pass, but I worry about getting dehydrated.

Anyway, I just need to vent.  I am just so tired of this.  I just want to eat like a normal person.  I just want to go one day without throwing up.  I don't want to be scared of taking my meds or having a drink of water.  KWIM.

Definitely go in.  Make sure they check you for a stricture.  I haven't had one, but I've heard about them and it sounds like you could have one.  It's easy to check for and easy to fix.

Be ever so careful, it's warm out and you're not drinking.  Watch for dehydration signs, if you get any, go in right away.

Let us know how you are...

Sweety, hang in there.. and yes.... be agressive.. get to the clinic.. this is not right.....and don't leave until it is right.... I do know water was a major problem for me in the begining... I ended up having to drink warm water, as cool, or cold would make my pouch spasm... Have you tried that? Just a suggestion.

I am not short... I am fun sized!!

SO sorry you are going through this. Definately be persistent with your doc, this just doesn't sound right.

As far as the Prilosec for what it is worth I took it for a while post op and broke it in half and it seemed to work fine for me.

Good luck it will get better :)

Sorry to hear you are having so many problems.  Go see your Dr. and make sure you get the treatment you need to feel better.  Personally I never had any issues unless it was tied to something stupid I did.  Be persistent with your Dr. on your treatment.  I would have camped out at his office.

Get well!

Bonnie
