OT: I'm injured again

(just so you can all laugh with me because trust me, I need to laugh about this...) So, not quite as bad as my previous fall on the stairs last month (which I think my tailbone is still recovering from but at least the bruise is now some shade of brown vs. blue/purple) , but this morning I went into the kids' bathroom (my first mistake) and I tripped over a series of "traps", finally falling against the wall near the toilet. I knew my toe was hurt but I figured I had just stubbed it on the step stool and it would be fine after the stinging pain went away. I silently cussed until I at least felt better mentally.   I wore my slippers to work because it was the only "shoe" I could get on without hurting my toe. I just went in the bathroom to look at it because it hurts so much worse than earlier this morning...the verdict...I think it's broken!   It is so swollen and black & blue. It even looks like I cut it a little or broke off a piece of nail because there was some dried blood. Good Lord!   But, being a mom = priceless! LOL So...how was your morning? Tell me it was better than that! XOXO ~Amy~

Well you'll be glad to know the toes heal pretty quick... but if you have the insurance or $$, I'd maybe get it checked out. Not much of a "toe cast" they can put on it, but they can at least check out the bruising and bleeding. Sounds like an active morning, nonetheless...now go take a Have a good (better!) day!!!

Amy, honey, my broken toe aches for ya!  Which toe is it?  Maybe we match?  (middle toe, right foot for me...  from getting stepped on by the horsie March 14th.) The doc said that for the big toe, they might be able to help, but any of the others?  Not much they can do.  I was told to tape mine to one of the toes on either side of the broken one, to more or less immobilize it.  The discoloration lasted about 2 weeks, but that sucker still looks like a sausage compared to the others!! If you opt to "tape" it to another toe, there is a fabulous non-adhesive product - comes in a roll, I used the 3/4" width, and it's kinda like those funky newer Ace wraps - all crinkly and sticks to itself without pins, clips or sticky stuff. Poor hon... I think my toe just had a sympathy throb for ya

Ooh, almost Darla. Right foot, it's the ring one in between middle and little. I'm going to try that tape because I know exactly the product you're talking about! Thank you for suggesting that.

OWWWW...the toes are so tender.  And falling down at my age just isn't fun any more. You have my sympathy my dear.  How old are the kids?  Mine are 16 & 18 and I don't even go up stairs anymore (I just threaten to). Tape the tootsies together and milk it for all it's worth. Take care

First thing's first missy...NEW AVATAR!  We are so taking a picture of you at the next MG coffee for an avie update! LOL Thank you Sandy! Mine are slightly younger - 4 & 6. They just do not get why we are constantly talking about picking up their toys, but as I continue to become inactive due to the injuries sustained from the mishaps involved, I think they're getting it. Unfortunately it's always me or DH that steps on toys, never the kids. Go figure! I'm thinking crutches would be a good option right now. haha
