What do you take for calcium?

Hi Krysta,  Per my surgeon's clinic, I've taken Caltrate 600 w/D from two months out (did take Viactive the first two months but ceased as it was too much like eating a candy snack!).  Am 21 months out and have not had any calcium deficits in my three-month, six, nine, one year, and requested at 18 months to ensure all labs were alright, which they were.   I take one  Caltrate four times daily, alwaysnine a.m., eleven a.m., two p.m., and eight p.m. so not to interfere with meals, or other supplements.  Best wishes!  Hugs galore, Patti

Hey dear!  You might just want to take extra vit D!  I was in the Hosipital for Gall Bladder and they told me that WLS patients need to up their vit D anyways.  So Now I take at least 2000mg (per doc's orders) a day.  Just a thought!

Hey Sandy.  Does the Vitamin D come in Chewable form?  I've only been instructed to do 2 multi-vitamins, 2 doses of Calcium and B-12 Sublingual Liquid (once a week) but my bariatric nurse has made no mention of Vitamin D but can't hurt!

I am not sure...... I take the GNC brand and one pill is 2000mg and I take 2 of them.  They are the size of Tylonal tabs so they are easy to swallow.

I don't know if it comes in chewable. They put the two together because D helps you absorb the calcium.

Also, here in MN we don't get enough sun light so most are Vit D deficient. Supposed to be 70 degrees by mid week...YaHoo!! Soak up that D.
