What do you take for calcium?
Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in awhile, but still lurk almost every day. My 6 month labs came back showing I'm a bit low in calcium and vitamin D. I need to switch to a new calcium. What do you take? What are some favorites? Anyone take the Citracal Petites? Do you have to cut them or are they easy to swallow?
Thanks in advance!
Krysta
I've been taking Citracal Creamy Bites or Viactive. I've heard the Citracal (calcium citrate) is better absorbed, and I love the Creamy Bites, but I had to order them from the Walgreens pharmacy - and I've since heard they're being discontinued, period. BUMMER!
Barb J. had some samples of the Bariatric Advantage calcium supplements at the PNC meeting last night - lots of flavors, so far I've only tried the chocolate and the cinnamon. Not bad, but rather chalky/gritty. Still, it's important to get those things in, so I can deal with chalky/gritty for a few seconds a day.
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
This is the calcium citrate & D combined in a powder form that I use - UPCALD

I like it and didn't think it was too expensive. Shipped really fast, couple of days.
I add it to my yogurt in the a.m. and just mix it in a little water before bed. It has a slight sweet taste.

www.vitalady.com is always a great resource, too.
UpCalD is a great product from the people I know that use it!
Sandy,
Would it be at all possible if I could buy or trade you for something for one of your single packets of this stuff so I can try it? I am sooooo sick of chewables it makes me not want to take them. I don't want to buy a whole thing and then not like them, I do that way too often as it is with other things.
