Hey there GF!  I will let ya know, thank you!  Yes we should try to get to one of the coffee groups.  How often do you get to the gym?  This week I will be going at night and my husband is at work afternoons this week.  PM me if you ever want to go workout together.  I am off work at 430.

Your almost there!!! The emotional stuff your going through right now is totally normal. I think I can pretty safely say we've all been there and done that. and it to me about 3 months post op to go to any of the coffees. I was too scared too. I was afraid and I had kind of reclused myself to work and home and grocery shopping when I had to. It takes some time but you'll find yourself bursting to be around others and out in the public.  I'm so happy for you to be on this journey and to be able to share it with you. Good luck! L.

That is the point I was at.  All I did was work/home/and the necessity shopping!  I am starting to get better though.  Actually went to the gym by myself tonight.  Usually I would make the excuse that it is to busy after work or I didn't want to go unless my husband went.  Thank you for the encouraging words!

Anita - It sounds to me like you are right on track.  Don't let nerves get the best of you.  We all the butterflies flying in our stomachs...the fear of the unknown and all.  For me...this is the best thing I ever did...wish I had done it sooner. Please don't be afraid of the coffee groups or support groups...they are an amazing bunch of people who know what you are going through better than anyone as we have all walked the same walk.  It's a bunch of nonjudgmental people all with the same goals...and helping each other reach them.   Good luck to you as your journey to improved health continues!!! Hey Anita, Congratulations on that last NUT visit!!! That's exciting stuff! Like you, I have sat down a few times with my mom & sisters to talk about my surgery. I was so nervous at first because we are all MO/SMO and I wasn't sure how they'd react. I honestly thought they would think "oh great, now you're going to think you're better than us" or "she probably thinks we all need this surgery", etc. But what I found instead was that they were supportive and encouraging and as it gets closer, they have more questions. But, I couldn't be so self-absorbed in my journey to not include them, because they are my world! I cherish my family very much and I didn't want to deny them the opportunity to understand my procedure and my journey. I commend you for wanting to do this and it will be a great step forward on your journey! Best wishes with that. Coffee...well, we might love ya to death once you pop your head in for the first time, but I promise you - we've all felt that way as the newbie coming to a coffee group I bet. However, everyone has such compassion for everyone else that is going on their journey, that really, those fears subsided so quickly and I just know they will for you, too. You will go when the time is right for you, but don't let fear control you because it's not worth it. Best wishes!!!

Thank you!  My family knows that I am going to have surgery.  I just am wanting to know what their fears are of me having it.  My dad won't talk to me at all about it.  My family is my world also.  My dad is scared of the things that will happen afterwards....like will something happen to my marriage.  I told him that I am not happy with my life and whatever happens afterwards happens.  I love my husband dearly.  My dad has heard you know all the scary things that the media puts out there.  You are such a sweet heart!  Yes I will peak my head around the door frame sometime soon for coffee!  I need as much support as I can get and I know this is a great place for it.

GF !!!!  Get yourself to a coffee group -- if you ever have to let your guard down and be trusting -- the ladies at coffee are the people to do it with  -- And the support groups are absolutely wonderful too!!  So between coffee and support groups -- you'll meet just about all of us and we aren't any different in person than we are here.   WE LOVE EVERYBODY and believe me we answer all your questions at either place.  MJ was shy about group and now just loves it and us.  Lisa Joy and sister Cindy were shy with coffee and joining the board -- they love us!!!!   When you do come (and you will cause we are irrisistible) bring a pillow cause we will hug you till it hurts (or is it the laughing that does that???). PAAAAAALEEZE come to a coffee to break the ice!!!  XXOO

YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CLOSE!!!  I bet you have been working hard on all the stuff we have to do pre-op!

I have found that if I am open and honest with my family about all of things I am feeling, they are so supportive.  I won't say that they didn't have reservations, but I was open to hearing what they had to say.  I think I impressed them with all of the knowledge I had about the surgery.  They knew I wasn't rushing into anything.  I pray that your family is as open and supportive as mine.  I SUPPORT YA!!!   Cheerleader Toss 1   Let me know if you want to go to coffee together, I have been wanting to get down to the cities to meet some of the gang!!!
