Good Morning everyone!
Since Nick got up at 5am I thought I would give Deb a break and post the coffee talk.  I am drinking water, but that's close to coffee, right?

I can't believe how cold and dark it is now.  It's like summer just ran past us and out the door.  I think we are backwards.  Kids should go to school in the warm and sunny mornings.  Cold, dark days are for sleeping in!!  (I guess I'm kidding....who would want to sit in school in the hot weather?)

QOTD-how are you going to stay motivated to be healthy with all that is coming up?  Just some examples-cider mill donuts, Halloween candy, the holidays.....colder weather outside when you exercise...etc.

I haven't figured this out yet.  Last year my motivation for going to the gym was the hot tub after a workout.  It's the only thing that made me warm!!

Have a good day y'all!

QOTD-Luckily I have no interest in candy right now.  Not so lucky is I don't seem to dump on the sweets.  I have tried some here and there but for the most part I have no liking for them any longer.  My only bad foods now are nachos and vanilla ice cream.  I don't eat them often enough to be a concern though.  At least I don't think it is lol.  My issues involve getting in exercise, protein, water, vitamins, etc.  I got awarded $150 credit to the local gym so I guess I have no excuses now.  I was going to walk all summer but only did it a handful of times.  When the kids go back to school I will add a gym membership to my day.  We as a family are going to walk each night too.  That's the plan, now I got to stick with it.

Nothing on the agenda for today.  Wait, oh crap!  I was supposed to do labs this morning for my doctor appt next week.  I had to be fasting and I am having....um...diet sprite.  Got to give that up too.

Good morning all of us Michiganders...don't cha love this weather? Wwhhhhooooo!!

Deb, I know you will have a blast on your bike ride, keep you head up and watch out for the traffic in some spots along the way....stay away from the wacky dude that likes to crash into other bikers!

I'll look for you riding by Bob's place. A good time will be had by all.

QOTD: I am so luck to have a BF like Deb, we both like to exercise together...and solve the world's problems while we do it!!

Dealing with upcoming Halloween treats, dang...we have to have a plan in place, I don't want to be snacking on all those "bite size" little treats. They are just plain evil I tell ya!

Maybe set a goal that would be attainable for us like: Okay, maybe ONE treat a day of bite size candy...then take that walk! Or if you are still trying to lose, NO Treat for the day and paint your toenails! or take a bubble-bath. Massage your body with body lotion and smell pretty.

Yesterday, one of my elderly volunteers came up to get her uniform with her friend who has volunteered for a long time. Barb told her I had WLS (the new volunteer was quite heavy), I think she was trying to encourage her to think about WLS...any way the new gal said, "I've know so many people who had the surgery and gained all their weight back"...I replied, the surgery will NOT keep the weight off, it's a lifestyle change along with exercise, if you don't embrace this concept, you WILL GAIN that weight back. I think the light-bulb came on for her. I'm one not to recruit for WLS, it's a personal choice because as we all know, it's not an easy lifestyle at all.

So everyone, have a plan in place before more holidays crop up. Dang, Christmas will be here before you know it.

Good Morning All,
I have coffee brewing this morning, I'm not much of a coffee drinker but am giving Pam's protein coffee a try.
Today is my Saturday so I'm going to finish up some touch up painting that needs to be done and the weed out summer clothes . .  there are some things I know I will not wear after my TT so getting rid of them now.

QOTD- I don't do sugar well at all so I really don't try  . . don't like donuts didn't even when I was heavier . . I tend to work out more in the cooler weather so I should be OK, my down fall are carbs . . those Light Lay's are stuck to my butt!

Deb - good luck on your bike race . . I'm glad the weather is going to work out for you.  I'm going to hit the river walk this morning while it's quiet.

Enjoy the day!

good morning all

had my butterscotch protein drink. it was good just added some sf butterscotch pudding to my vanilla protein.

QOTD: Have been dieing To go to the cider mill or a corn maze, not so much for the donuts and cider but for the atmosphere. I love just walking around the mill and smelling the fall leaves and the crunch of them under my shoes. Then there is the pumpkin patch too. I like to watch the kids carrying there finds.
When my kids were younger I would tell them that no pumpkin was off limits. If they could carry it from the field to the check out it was theirs.
They would start with some pretty big pumpkins then as they walk from the field they would switch up for the next size down then another, and another, Until the pumpkins were just the right size. Usually the size of small gourds. It was always fun and it wore them out.

Good morning all!

Just a little attention ***** plug.  Check out my amazing photos from yesterday.  I learned how to do panning photography -- capturing motion in a photo while keeping the subject in focus.

Brenda - I like your attitude.  Wednesday is almost Friday!  WooHoo!

QOTD -- I don't believe in motivation.  I think it's a dangerous word and an unrealistic expectation.  To me, that word implies that some outside force causes me to stay on course and makes me do the right thing.  So instead, I believe in momentum.  Do one small thing that's right and healthy and that will create the forward motion to do one more small thing, which creates momentum for one more small thing, etc.  This method relies on myself and my own strength and action and not some mystical force from the universe that may or may not be around when I need it.

Cool pics Pam....gotta say I love the sunset on 8/21.  But the motion ones were great, can't believe it's your first time trying that effect, good job.
