Monday Morning Coffee
Jan,
I wound up in the ER about 3 weeks out due to dehydration. I was really dizzy and just felt "weird".
One more bit of advice.....be careful with the croutons on salad. I find that they tend to expand and fill my pouch up fast. So I'll be eating a salad and feel fine, and then all of the sudden it feels like I ate a 10 lb. turkey all by myself! I have to limit the croutons to just one or two broken up over a big salad. You might not eat them at all, but if you do, be careful.

Thanks for the advise Brenda. The salads at Wendy's don't come with croutons, I don't think, just carrots and tomatoes and lettuce. i love croutons tho so I'll be careful if and when I do get a salad w/croutons.
I'm definately going to be more diligent at getting in my water. Don't want to end up in the ER. Good to know that it was probably dehydration and not vertigo. I think it'll be easier to remedy by just getting in more fluid. Easy, no, but easier than taking another pill. Yuk. I have trouble remembering to get in all of my calcium. I always get in at least two, but the third seems to be a problem for some reason. I tried putting them on the kitchen table and when I walk past and see one sitting there I grab one if it's been two hours and just eat it. That seemed to work out better, but hubby doesn't like all the pills sitting on the table. I say tough. He's been a bit crabby lately, but I'm not going to worry about it. It's stressful and he doesn't handle stress well.
They just left from the final walk through. Everything went well and we'll definately close on Wednesday. It's been a long time coming, but well worth it.

YES - dehydration causes dizziness. I get it on occasion, and when I do - I do a mental calculation - and yup, usually I'm low on fluids. Being low on D3 can also cause it - but I think the biggest contributor is dehydration.
I also get dizzing when I squat down to do something and stand back up.. that happens the most (for my dizziness factor). Happened yesterday and I know I wasn't dehydrated.. but low blood pressure can also cause it - which I tend to have too...

Be sure your D3 is a DRY D3 - we don't absorb anything else.
As far as your BP goes, if you are hydrated and still having dizziness - I'd call him and tell him. He may want to adjust the bp meds some more.

The D3 is a capsule. I got the site from my bariatric surgeon on where to buy it, so I imagine it's the DRY stuff so I can absorb it.
I've gotten in 32 oz so far today. Don't like that dizziness or vertigo at all. I'll watch my BP and watch for dizziness.
Thanks.
I'm probably going to move on Thursday so I can get a head start on unpacking. Don't want to spend the entire Labor Day weekend unpacking, but I'm sure I will.

Just to throw another idea out there.... are you still on hp med's? You may need to ramp them down or go off them totally.
