im cleaning up my house today for the HUGE BBQ we are having on sat. Its woodward dream cruise and there is Free parking at our house ( my hubby and I new house is off of woodward in ferndale) !

I guess my rant is me....trying to get motivated....
I'm drinking a coffee with cream and splenda. I had a protien shake already and 8 oz of SF Cran-grape kool-aid.
I am in Chelsea today b/c Steve is having surgery today. Right now I am sitting in the waiting room waiting for his surgery to get started @ 12:30. I'm glad they have wireless connections so that I can keep my mind occupied while waiting!
QOTD: My rant.....when people don't know what they are talking about....ok, let me explain. Tues night I took my neices and parents for icecream. We went to a place that normally carries sugar free ice cream. But, as luck had it, they were out of it. So I asked the girl working if there was anything else that is sugar free. She said yes, our 'freezy's are. So I ordered a raspberry freezy. Well, I knew better.....so after she made it, I whispered to her so I wouldn't make a scene and said 'are you sure these are sugar free b/c I will get violently sick if I eat any sugar at all'. Her eyes got real big and said 'oh, i'm not sure, I think they might have some sugar in them, I just tell people that when they ask for sugar free something because it's mostly ice' YEP, ice and SUGARED flavoring :-) It was no biggie, but really, people should train their employees and a lesson to us WLS patients to take our health into our own hands and if we know better, follow your gut.

I totally understand where your coming from. I'm allergic to shell fish....one day I was in a Chinese rest. and asked if the egg rolls had shrimp, she said yes, I said well than I can't have it, she then said oh no I meant pork! Needless to say I didn't believe her and didn't order it. Others at the table did and when we looked at their egg rolls sure enough....shrimp!!!
I complained to the mgt. but they could have cared less. I could have had an allergic reaction, ended up in the ER or worse, the morgue!!
Needless to say I don't eat at Chinese rest's anymore....which is sad, I used to love to go to them.
Hope Steve comes through everything with flying colors today.

And in the meantime, I have a new rant......here I sit in the surgery waiting room, it is a big room with lost of chairs....I just counted.....58 chairs. So these two ladies walk in and sit in the chair right next to me......Why would a person do that when there are 57 other chairs in the room. I just like my personal space.....I just don't get why you'd pick the chair right next to someone when the room is huge and there's room to spread out....ok, I feel better now.......and I got up and moved snce they called me back to talk to the surgeon, so now I have my space again :-)

Apparently this is my day to relate to you..... once on a date we went to the movies, there were only about 20 people in the theater and these 2 ladies come in and sit right next to the guy I was on a date with. We looked at each other and just cracked up!
Glad to hear everything went well with Steve, I hope he has a speedy recovery.
