BELLY BUTTON PROBLEM
Hello Dear Friends,
The last couple of days my navel has been red and inflammed and is quite sore. It isn't bulging out so I don't think it is a rupture but I'm not sure. I haven't yet had my tummy tuck surgery but am wondering if it could be a part of my large amount of loose skin on my lower abdomen.
In the past, I have developed little tears on either side of my lower abs due to the large amount of skin hanging down and the weight of it has casue problems.
I still would like to lose about 25 lbs. more before pursuring my tt. Have any of you ever had or heard of a problem like this? My navel is quite red - mostly on the inside and very tender to the touch. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Pam
Randy is right about having it documented for insurance purposes. You may want to have your physician check it out.
You are probably dealing with a yeast infection, especially if there is an odor to it. I've had this problem before and it's not fun.
I use a Q-tip and alcohol to clean it. Then I use a yeast infection creme (like Monostat. I know, I know, it's not for that part of your body, but trust me, it's the same bacteria) a couple of time a day until it is gone.
I hope your belly button feels better soon!
Jenn
Hello,
Thanks for your good advice. I will make an appt. with my dr. on Monday. And I know that it should be documented espiecially as further reasons for getting my tt.
Do any of you know how the insurance companies usually treat request for tt after a big weight loss? Do they give you a big fight or not?
Thanks.
Pam
Pam,
I think you are correct in seeing your Family Doctor and getting documentation. Any tme you have rashes caused by extra skin, should pain and back trouble due to large breast weigh or as you say, redness around your belly button.. Im not a medical person, but doesn't that sometimes show that there might be a hernia around there(which also help when getting approval for a tt)Any and all inf you can included is normally helpful...I haven't had a tt
wouldn't mind, but really need a breast reduction and lift first.. Because of one of my surgery complications,I no longer have a belly button, so I kind of would like to have one of those two.
I haven't yet approached my insurance-it is a new company so I don't know what they require,,,
Hope you get yours figured out Pam
