Whats your best food picks at the drive up windows ?
There are a few ff items that my surgeon says are ok.
Salads with grilled chicken at McD's -- NO DRESSING
2 hard or soft shell taco's at Taco Bell (no sour cream)
Turkey sub w/o cheese at Subway
plus a few others.....
If I have to eat there I usually get a grilled chicken sandwich and discard the bun, or if you ask, they will leave the bun off.
I'm glad my doc gave me a list of what to eat and what not to eat at the fast food places....it sure helps a lot....not that I frequent those places, but once in a great while.

Done! Your Ticker:
Wendy's - Chili
Burger King - Chili (not quite as good as Wendy's), or Veggie burger no mayo if they carry it.
McDonalds - Salad generally- but really not impressed
Taco Bell - Bean & Cheese burrito or shelless taco Salad
Arby's - they have some low carb wraps, but never tired them. Not a big fan of Arby's
Fazoli's - Salads are ok, cheese ravioli with meat sauce. They are very accomidating about letting you eat off the kids meal.
I do do fast food because I have a 4 year old and a husband who loves it. I try to make my WLS as normal lifestyle as possible.

The closer I get to surgery (hopefully) the more I am thinking about this too. We ate at the mall food court last night. The choices were Manchu Wok (Chinese), McD, Taco Bell, Sabarro, Cafe American, Yummy Japan. I went for the broccoli chicken at manchu wok. The chicken was tender, not breaded, broccoli nicely cooked. I was trying to imagine how long it would take to finish that meal post op (ie chewing broccoli to paste consistency). I thought about bean burrito or pintos and cheese from taco bell. ALso, I have tried the wendy's chicken sandwich (grilled) no bun, no dressing etc. It's moist. I love chicken so that will probably be something I opt for in the future too. You should have seen the look I got from DH when I took the chicken off the bun, held it by the wrapper and ate it going down the road. He kinda chuckled and said, "I'm still hungry, can I have the bun?". LOL

Shawn,
I work at the Midland Mall. Manchu is my worst nightmare since surgery. I am not sure what it is, but I always feel ill afterwords. I am not sure if it is the sauce or what.
Cafe American has some great soups. I lived off the soup after I went back to work . I would eat less than 1/2 of a cup. Turkey wild rice is proably my favorite. The Tomato Bisque and Cream of Portabella is good too. Not a big fan of their chili or chicken gumbo. Thier salads are the best in food court too. I recomment the oriental with grilled chicken. It has driend cranberries, almonds, oranges, along with your romaine and chicken. Of course there is the rice noodles too.
I do Sushi from Yummy japan frequently. The California roll is great for me. I like the others but it is way to much and I have no one to share with.
Just my thoughts on a couple non chain restaurants.

I rarely do drive-ups anymore and have become an avid gourmet lunch-packer. But in a pinch:
hamburger from McD's without bun top
pintos 'n cheese from Taco Bell
classic grilled chicken from McD's w/no mayo and I ask for a honey mustard dipping sauce to go with it. I take it off the bun and just eat the chicken dipped in the honey mustard-very good but a little pricey.
