My first step, and first setback?

The WLS seminar that I was attending last night was a 2 hour and 15 minute drive, so we packed up early and headed out. It was cold, but not snowing. We got about halfway there when it hit. The road conditions were the worst that hubby has ever driven in and we showed up 15 minutes late even though we'd left an hour early. It was horrible. I was so relieved that we'd made it there finally and safe. We walked up to the conference room where it was to be held only to see a sign on the door that read "Bariatric surgery seminar is canceled tonight due to weatehr conditions". My heart sunk and I wanted to cry. The roads were even worse on the way home, and we actually had to stop for the night and wait for plows to come through before heading back home. I am really disappointed. I was excited to be taking my first step and possibly scheduling my consulation with surgeon. Now what do I do? Do they reschedule these or will I have to wait until the next 1st tuesday of the month?

How disappointing!  I know how much it takes just to go to the first meeting.  Where were you headed to?  Call the office that is associated with Dr. that were doing the seminars and they will answer all your questions. Stay with it!   {{{BIG HUG}}} Carole

I'm so sorry too! ((hugs))  This winter will end!....just not sure which year. I hope that you can get into a seminar real soon!  I'd think that even if they only held them once a month that since it was cancelled, they'd have one for this month yet. Good luck & Keep your chin up!

Curse the midwest winters! Don't let that discourage you.. sounds like a test to see if you really want this.. and you do! Keep trudging along.. you will be happy you did.
