OH Event in Detroit 5/31/08

Anyone going? Has anyone went before? Until 5/1 tickets are only $5.00 seems like a bargin if its good information. On a Saturday which is a plus too. Thanks in advance. Pam

I went last year.    The best part was meeting a lot of great ppl from the board.    The seminar itself i  think sucked.    I'd rather get the group together for lunch or something fun.     The speakers were just boring.      Linda

Pam, I've never gone to one of these but from what I hear, it's mostly for pre oppers.  Alot of WLS surgeons speaking their tunes, sharing info, some vendors, I've even heard the food wasn't that great.  And that the service sucked.  Like Linda said, it's alot more fun to get a group of people from here (if possible) to get together and share stories someplace than go to something mainly designed for those who are interested in having WLS. Thats just IMHO. Stacey W

Pretty much what Linda said.  Beau was a good speaker, there were some nice free pens and calcium tablets.  It was geared to pre-ops, and the surgeon who spoke (actually paid to do so) only discussed RNY. 

But Linda, if tickets are just $5.00 instead of the $20.00 we paid last year, maybe we should do a meet up there and then  head out to lunch?

Thank you much ladies.   For me it includes a 2 hour drive down, and back.  I thought if it had good info it might be worth it.  An the $5.00 price didn't look bad, vs $25.00 after 5/1 or $50.00 at the door.

Gee Pam....we could drive down together!  Providing John does not have other plans!  Still shaking my head at the 'small world' coincidence on that subject.  I myself like the idea of meeting up with others from the board. 

Oh by then he will be in the hay fields 24/7 he will have plenty to keep him busy.   It was very nice meeting you today.  I talked to John shortly after.  Thanks for sitting with my mom today. 

that's a good idea.     But what would be really fun is all of getting one huge table and make fun of the speakers.    Maybe we can get kicked out?       Sorry, it's the devious side of me. Linda

I'm always up for meeting you guys, but I'm not giving OH my $5.  Wasn't worth that last year (IMHO).  Let me know if anyone is meeting up.
