I called Priority Health PPO, and they do cover bariatric surgery (yay!)  Of course, it has to be pre-approved and all that jazz...  I was told it covered surgery 100%, but only 50% of physician fee's up to $1000. I've tried searching for typical physician fees before posting here, but I couldnt find anything. I'm in Holland, MI. Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance, Michelle

I am a private pay and am having Dr. Foote from MMPC do my surgery.    His fee is $5300 The visit with the nut, exercize guru and pre op food is $1151. The psychologist is $125.00 Everything else my insurance picked up. Good Luck!  I'm in Holland too. Carole PS: There is a MMPC WLS group that meets the first and thrid Tuesday of each month at the office of Dr Scott on S Washington @ 6:00pm.  Come and visit tomarrow (Mar 4) and ask questions.  There are people that have had RNYs, LapBands and Verticle Sleeves.  They are a very suportive group.

I have just got approved and a date.  I have Priority Health, too.  I had to write a check to the doctor for $1000. before they would schedule my date. Not so funny, the next week I had to write a check for $2000 for a new furnace. LOL.  Oh well, easy come, easy go.  Good Luck.

Hi.. I also have PH and I had to pay $1000 out of pocket for my physician fees.  I went to MMPC  Yes it is only 50% they cover.  It also depends on your employeer.  If they did not have bariartic coverage, then PH will not cover.  My employer does have coverage, so it was paid for in full.  :O)

That does not include the hopsital ($14,000+) or the anesthesia bill ($1,250). Carole
