just 2 more days.....

have my IVC filter placement at 10am tomarrow morning.....  surgery is at 9am on Tuesday..... yay!!!!!!  yesterday and today im lettin my nerves get to me...but they ok.....  mucomyst they gave me for the filter placement tastes like rotten eggs.........ugh....... NEVER GET IT IN LIQUID FORM....haha send a prayer up for me  ill let ya'll know when im home...

what is a filter and why are you having it? my ryn is tomorrow and i am excited!!! best wishes to you!! kandy

the filter im having is an IVC ( inferior vena cava) filter put into my vein via my neck (or femoral vein in legs).  They just put them in to prevent any potential clots from reaching my lungs...(pulmonary embolism)... just on the safe side  im so happy for you.... wishes and hopes on your speedy recovery also!!!!! ~Jenny~

I had a filter put in too.  It is a piece of cake, you will be just fine... It is just like taking a nap... I don't remember having to take anything though, maybe I did and I was just so excited about my surgery that was coming up that I forgot about it... LOL.... Good Luck tomorrow and on Tuesday.... It will be here in a blink of an eye.... I will keep your spot warm on the losers bench.... Prayers are going up for a safe surgery and a speedy recovery... HUGS 2 U,

Dr. Kemmeter was my surgeon and he wanted me to have the filter also. I was able to get the mucomyst thru a pharmacy across the street from Butterworth Hospital in pill form. The pills were two dollars each, but it was worth it not to have to swallow the horrid liquid. I had the filter removed two weeks after surgery. No problems at all.

yeah.... the liquid sucks...lol.... im not suppose to have juice, but i found a juice with no sugar and only 10 calories!!!  they tell you to use 2oz of liquid with the 3ML of the stuff, so the grapefruit/tangerine juice i found REALLY helps....  your doing great also!!... i'll be a loser soon too!  ~Jenny~
