Ooops, my oldest daughter (orchestra) was this weekend but the middle schools also participated in this area.

I was referring to the Durand HS team. LOL That's how bad the HS FB team is...  Still sorry to hear about receiving the II. Kids are probably so disheartened. Kinda' like I told me daughter when she was competing in the horse show world. "It's only one person's opinion." (In 4-H there normally is only one judge also in some Class A competition until you get to regionals.. ) I would also say "Remember if your ride was great then whether you get a ribbon or not doesn't matter."  But of course to her it did.  I recall when my son's jr high band (Howell) competed. The kids all worked so hard as did the instructor and they received a II. To my tin ear they were fantastic.  They were so dejected.. Though my son was a natural on the trombone after that he gave it up for HS JV football.

Back space------ I had band festival and so did Dan. He fell while at festival. My ratings fell after we played. My bands traditionally earn straight superiors. I replied MS is next week to Jenn. I am also a string bass player who plays all wind instruments. I was in a car accident three months ago and had a closed head injury. I fell off my porch seven years ago and broke my back when I was a fat guy noting Dan's thought on what it would have been like getting into an ambulance last year. I have a headache. Now,,, I think I have it sorted out. I was getting confused. kp

Man it was fun hearing the stories today!  I guess I kept asking for pain pills on the bus to festival, man don't remember that at all.  The kids say that got me singing "I'm a little tea pot" too, I think they were kidding but I've made enough of them sing that song to get their stuff back that I can see them trying that one.  All is good and only a minor headache now -- it was scary though.  --Sax

Haha!  I thought it was just me that was confused.  I am a little scared that I almost made sense of that without the explanation. Our oldest daughter is a string bass player who is being taught by someone that cannot play a string instrument.  I feel terrible for him.  But, he is an awesome musician.  Thought I would add to the confusion some more.
