I got the call on Wednesday that everything was done.  They asked me if I had any conflicts in mid-April and I said no.  So I am supposed to get the call with the exact date! But I am wondering if they are going to wait until my endoscopy is complete on March 14th before scheduling.  I hope not because that will push me into May.  My doctor requires 4 weeks of Optifast pre-surgery :( But I am excited!  Its really happening.  My mom is giving me a hard time though.  She keeps saying over and over how she wishes I would do the Lapband because its "reversible".  I have all but screamed at her that its not "reversible" in the way she thinks.  She thinks that when you lose the weight they will go in and remove the band.  ARGHHH!  What irritates me the most about it is that 10+ yrs ago a family friend had WLS and she was all gung ho about it.  I suppose she is just scared for me. But I have a daughter with special needs.  I dont know what the future is going to hold for her and I HAVE to be around to take care of her.  I already am at a cardiac risk, I have sleep apnea and GERD.  Its time to do something. Hey Laura, As the mom of a SNK too (Nick-15 years old w/ Prader-Willi Syndrome) I can relate to how you're feeling.  My dad gave me such a guilt trip about electing to have this surgery...saying that I was going to leave this poor disabled child with no mother...blah blah blah.  That was 2 years ago, and I'm fine! So keep up your positive attitude, take care of yourself, and you'll do just great! Brenda
