Pureed diet
I ate a TON of refried or mashed up black beans with cheese at this point. I also pureed turkey (lunch meat or leftovers) and heated it up with some "gravy". I was going crazy at this time because I just wanted some hot food. I also got the Special K protein cereal and let it sit for a few minutes in skim milk to get a little mushy.
"Gravy"-melt 2T Smart Balance spread, whisk in 2T whole wheat flour...cook a few minutes, it will form a roux, whisk in 1 3/4c low sodium chicken broth....heat until thickened. I add 1 tsp. poultry seasoning and black pepper to make it taste like thanksgiving :). Use this to moisten pureed chicken and turkey.
Cook some cauliflower and ma**** up with a little cheese in it.
Make a couple tablespoons of re-fried beans and get some low fat sour cream and some low sodium mild salsa. Heat the beans and scoop a little with some sour cream and salsa on the same bite - it's a burrito without the tortilla. It will take you a half hour to eat it at least.
When you are all done with this and have lost all your weight and you are running around like a little kid you will look back on these days and laugh.

I pureed Taco Bell's pintos & cheese also Wendys Chili. I did add some tomato juice to both to thin it out a little.
Also, if I remember correctly I mashed up a soft boiled egg!

Baby Food. Stage 2. For the brief amount of time I was on the pureed food, it wasn't *that* bad. I bought the dinners and fruits. I added spices like garlic, salt and pepper, Mrs. Dash...to give it some flavor because baby food is made without added salt. I supplemented with yogurt and cottage cheese, and the protein shakes. Refried beans with tons of cheese and sour cream was always good topped off with salsa. Any soup can be pureed...I always added a scoop of powder or leftover chicken to boost the protein grams. Soft scrambled eggs worked well for me too.
Good luck, this stage will be over soon. Just chew chew chew....swallow nothing bigger than a pencil eraser. Chew the food until it feels like it's been pureed before swallowing. Go slow.
