Low White Blood Cell Count

Just wondering if anyone has had any trouble with low white blood cell count since surgery. I have had consistent low numbers since my surgery and now my PCP wants to send me to a hematologist. My count is down as low as 2.3. Dr says it might be an auto immune disorder such as lupus or something. If anyone has had any problems similiar to this can they please share their experience with me?
