Two Weeks Out Update & Incident!!
Hope your Valentine's Day was better than mine!
Yesterday was two weeks exactly from tummy tuck and hernia repair. Driving to get my son some jerk decides he is going to fly through a stop sign. He tried to turn when he realized he was going to hit me so that the trailer he was pulling would just hit me and lessen the impact, but the back drivers side of his truck hit the front passenger side of my Trailblazer, part of his trailer hit the door where my son usually is at (thank god he was not with me at the time) and punctured the door, the back part of his trailer had a metal ramp and that must have gotten the back of my Trailblazer because there is a gash on the back bumper. He hit me so hard (everyone agrees that he must have hit the intersection at 30-35) that he pushed me into the oncoming traffic lane and into another vehicle. The lady coming from the other direction saw him flying into the intersection, knew he was going to hit me so headed towards the shoulder....or I would have hit her head-on. I still ended up hitting her and there is damage to the front drivers side panel and the mirror is gone on my Trailblazer. She was driving a Tahoe and had to get pulled out of the snowbank that she ended up on as her 4-wheel drive would not get her out. A nurse was following behind and came running up to my vehicle along with the lady that I hit asking if I was okay. They managed to get my door open as I was not able to. The nurse looked at my incisions and said that everything looked okay.
The jerk that hit me didnt even come over to my vehicle to see if I was okay or talk to me until TWENTY MINUTES after the accident.
He was able to drive away after the cop gave him his ticket. The lady I hit had minimal damage and was able to drive away. I, unfortunately, was not. My Trailblazer (which I have had for two months) is probably going to be totaled. It has damage to all four sides. Thank god no one was seriously hurt.
Got home and went to change out of my clothes as my jeans were wet at the bottom from the snow. Found blood on the right hip incision area, but not really much. Think it may have been because that is where the seatbelt buckled in. Still slightly bleeding when I took a shower, but it appears to be stopping. Am going to just leave it for now and let the air get to it so it will clot back up and stop bleeding completely. Then, I looked at my drains (I have two of the four left). The drain lines are BRIGHT RED! Emergency phone call to Dr. DiNick. He said that because I had my seatbelt on, with all the bouncing around my Trailblazer did that I may have jarred something inside. He is a bit concerned about the color, but has instructed me to keep an eye on the output. If it increases, then there is internal injuries and I am to call him immediately. So far the output has been the same. It slightly increased last night when I did my measurement before going to bed, but that would be because of the bleeding inside starting back up. This morning they are minimal again. The color is still red, but not as bright as after the accident. All in all, thank god no one really got hurt. Although, now I will probably have to find a new vehicle!! I guess it's a good thing that I am dating the guy at the dealership that I bought my Trailblazer from???
