Im from MI but live in tn I have a ?

Has anyone ever had thrush in there pouch and throat, I got a few weeks ago and think I amgetting it again, I brush my theet all the time and use mouth wash I dont havee a dirty mouth, having the thursh hurts my pouch and keeps me from eating has anyone heard of this??? Annrenee

Do you use an inhaler?    My daughter gets it if she doesn't wash her mouth out after each time she uses the inhaler.   It's very painfull. Linda

I think antibiotics can cause thrush also.  It's kind of like a yeast infection. 

It started out looking like strep was on antibotic, then doc said virus, then I had a endoscopy and he told me it was thrush, took lozengers he prescriped. it hurts my pouch and makes it hard to eat. Annrenee

I had this after surgery.  I was miserable!!  I had to use a prescription mouth rinse and take pills for two weeks to be rid of it.  Did I mention I was MISERABLE??? Sorry to hear you are having these issues.  I think it does need to be medically treated to get rid of it for good. Anna 

taking the prescription lozengers YUCK leaves a bitter taste in my  mouth, did the trick but now why would it start to come back or was it not all the way gone,  hummmm, I am leaving to come to MI to visit the 23 I dont wantto be suffering with it again I do have a refill on the lozengers I will getthem filled. Well if I remember correctly thrush is caused from tissue being moist and the natural flora being off balanced. I would go get treatment but also I would not use mouth wash for right now. You might be killing off the good flora. I have had thrush before I had WLS and it does hurt. What I did was just stuck to liquids for the time it took to heal up. I hope you get this taken care of I am sure you are really in pain. Let us know what you find out.
