It's been 3 years & 1 month!!! HELP!
Hi everyone...it has been a long while since I last posted. A LOT has happened in these last 3 years, but lately within the last 7 months I have had 2 serious surgeries. One last June at St. John Hospital in Madison Heights with Dr. Kerry Kole, he repaired a hernia near the pouch area, removed scar tissue and removed the gall bladder, 2 days later I was life-flighted to U of M with a possible aortic aneurysm in the stomach (but turned out the tests were negative, thank God!), then 4 months after that I endured another major surgery having an orange sized mass removed from my female organs (thank God again, my ovaries and uterus were saved and the mass was negative), but the recovery has left me a TOTAL "mess", I have gained 15 pounds and have lost "touch" with all forms of exercise!!! I was walking 4 miles a day. I cannot believe my lack of motivation. I don't recognize too many people from 3 years ago on the message board, of course Kevin :) but I am sure to make a lot of new friends. So I already pre-love yall, it seemed to me when I was active on the board 3 years ago prior and post my surgery, I just followed more closely and held a higher regard for the surgery. I have "become" too comfortable with the fact that I can slip more sugars in now, I can eat "some" breads, including pizza...etc...now I have a different motivation, we are going to start trying to get pregnant next month and I am scared to death that with a pregnancy, along will come more weight! So...I MUST return to my healty lifestyle now as it will bring me back to my healthy state of mind, body and soul. I miss this board and I AM BACK!!! PS: I will be posting a new photo this week :)
Thank you Marie, I have waited all my life for this so I suppose that's why I am "freaking" out. I know 15 pounds isn't a lot after all it's been almost 38 months post op, but regardless when we have the surgery, there is so much work to the weight loss that this last gain has me in a whirl-wind of fear :) Thank you again, I am anxious!
Hi Sherrill, thanks for the reply. Dr. Kerry Kole was then with CORI too, he did my surgery at Harper Dec. 2004. And yes I WAS going to the Rec to walk on the track EVERYDAY until 4 months ago, I was doing so good, walking most of the time 4 miles. I live near Michigan Ave. & I-275, so we are neighbors!
Hi Carol-I have not had any surgery yet but I found this link on another forum and saved it because I might need it some day. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html This plan is a way to get you back on track and get you off the carbs that can be so insideous. I have read about several people doing this plan and reclaiming their pouch. Good luck! Carole
