Barix Clinics "Free seminar" is NOT Free ! I was scammed..
Hey Alan, I would keep trying even if you have to call there 10 times a day. keep calling and bugging them until they call you back. That is to bad that happened. Even if you did give them your insurance info. they should have never charged you for a free no obligation seminar. Sorry your first experience had to turn out this way. Hope all works out for you. Hey Alan........ I had to laugh because I went to their seminar the day
after Thanksgiving and had the same thing.... I laughed because it was
just yesterday I recieved the same bill you did for 314.00 and thought
"What in the heck?????" I hate too see what the surgry is going to cost!
But......... I have heard sooooo many good things about Dr. Schram
that I wouldn't / won't go with no else!!! It will be surgery and my life
is at stake, I want no one but the best for me.......... because I am worth every penny my Insurance Co. spends on me!!!

Hi Alan, this is off topic, but I had to reply when I saw Northwood OH. GO RANGERS!! I lived in Northwood for 7 years and graduated from NHS in 1980. Wonder if you know any of my old pals. After graduation, I got married and moved across the border to the Wolverine State, but I'm still a Buckeye at heart. You can either message me at my profile page, or email [email protected]

I wwent to the MMPC seminar and it was totally free. They asked for my insurance card there, too, but that's so they could give me an idea of out of pocket expenses--different ins companies are different.
I would not pay the bill and I think I would reconsider them if they don't reverse the bill. Keep calling.
Did they maybe sneak a paper authorizing it in with the papers you filled out??
Stay on them.

Honesty Alan, I wouldn't want to go any where else for my WLS and after care. They have been super with me, I haven't had to ask for anything. This all sounds like a mistake in billing. Before you hammer them here, call their billing office and ask.
Barix is a reputable and responsible WL clinic. Saying things like this against them isn't going to help anyone, including you.

I went in also my seminar was free, but my one on one with the doctor was billed to my insurance company and all I paid was my co-pay... Dr. schram is well worth the payment of 20.00 dollars.
And again the group seminar was Free. Just as they told me, but I wanted to have the one on one with the doctor where he takes my health history, and they could more forward on getting my insurance approval, which they did let me add in 30 days !
Thank you Barix's Clinic and Dr. Jon Schram.
I would never Complain about paying 20.00 copay for a doctor's appointment.
I am hopeing to hear the out come from this bill. I bet they made it right for this patient
I would hope it is a mistake b/c I would want a surgeon/program that is ethical. If their billing practices are questionable...what else is questionable??? Just my 2cents.
****this is not a statement against Dr. Schram or Barix clinic***** just a generalization
