5 Months Post-Op, What a Ride!

Thought I'd throw out a quick update as to my journey. It's been 5 months (+ 2 days) and I am down 165 pounds!  I figure I have somewhere between 40-60 pounds left, my body will choose where I'll stop.  I have had a remarkably smooth ride and tell people this was the best decision of my life.  I haven't come close to dumping, course I haven't done anything to put myself even close.  Vitamin level has been good; a little low on the iron but the B-12 has been good. Some of the wows: Being able to run for over a mile without feeling like I'm about to die! Fitting into booths Borrowing clothes from my family (and they aren't large people) Being able to buy a large shirt at Sam's and think, "god this almost too big" Feeling great Being healthy. Lastly, I've inspired a lot of people at my school, students and staff alike.  As a matter of fact the staff just started a "Biggest Losers" competition.  I offered to handicap my results but they are all of the mind set that I've got to stop losing sooner or later.  I take my band students to Florida basically at the conclusion of the competition, so that will help inspire me to work hard to get to that final goal weight (not that I've needed any external motivation yet). Hope those of you starting this journey much success.  For those of you struggling, keep up the good fight, and for those of you at your goal thanks for the encouragement and inspiration! --Sax

Way to lose Saxman. That is such a phenominal loss.  This week was my 3 month and I have lost 46.5 pound. I am thrilled with the loss. My goal is another 50#'s. My nut wants to slow my loss down. Her goal is 30# more than what I want to hit. I don't think she realizes how tall (short) 5 foot women are. You will be hitting your goal before you know it. ~jan
