Need info on Dr Mark Pleatman

I am a self pay and have been working with MMPC in Grand Rapids. I have been quoted the total prcie of approx $25000 for the whole surgery.  Someone on the VSG forum steered me toward Dr Pleatman's website and I found the following statement. "We offer a package price of $12,500 for adjustable gastric band (LAP-BAND), $12,500 for laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, and $11,000 for Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. This price will includes the hospital, anesthesia, surgery, as well as 2 years of follow-up, including band adjustments (fills). Please email us or call the office for further details." Is there anyone here that has had him?  What is you opinion?  What hospital does he use?  I would appreciate any infor mation you could give me. Thank you,  Carole

I didn't have him as a surgeon, but know a few ppl who self paid through him and they seem very satisfied.   I also see him on the boards once in a while.   Go ahead and contact him and see what you think.   Linda

If you go to the top of the page, in the search bar, enter in "Pleatman" but make sure to click on "OH" above the bar so it only searches this website. You will find posts about him, made by his past patients.  For the low price, the hospital he uses is POH in Pontiac. I've never been there, but it doesn't get four star reviews. I mean, I'm familiar with it, and it isn't dirty or anything, just noisy and apparently you may very well get stuck with an annoying roommate. Read up on it. There are patient reviews of the hospitals on this site too. -Leigh

PLEATMAN I AM KAREN LAWSON FROM MISSOURI IM WAS AND STILL AM VERY  HAPPY WITH HIM AND EVERYTHING WITH MY VSG COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER .  I HAVE LOST ALOT OF WEIGHT AND INCHES I AM DOWN 82LBS BEFORE VSG 270 / 188 CHECH OUT BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES AND I WILL BE UPDATEING AGAIN SOON . LOST LOST OF INCHES WEARING SIZE 12/14 AND WAS IN 22/24 .  HE IS A GOOD AND KNOWS HIS STUFF I WOULD GO BACK TO HIM IN A HEART BEAT .
